Some schools out of state could offer you more than HOPE does, so that does not mean don't apply to some schools both out and in state. What school in California do you want to go to?

Hey friend!!! Look up schools that meet 100% of your demonstrated need! These schools can give you up to a full ride if they deem you can't afford their college without it, and often offer stipends to those receiving large financial aid packages. It's really great. The only caveat is that those types of schools are REALLY hard to get into, so many sure you have good grades and test scores, passionate extracurriculars and really great essays!

Im looking a mostly out-of state schools, I mean there's nothing wrong with Maryland (where I live) But I want a new atmosphere and the school where I go to is not very diverse and majority of seniors each year go to the same local schools and it's basically like highschool 2.0 and I want to broaden and meet new people. Also I want to go to big schools and ones they are more competitive. (I'm looking at UPenn (my sis goes there, she wanted nothing w MD too), WashU, Duke, USC, BostonU, UMD College Park, Coastal Carolina as sort of a safety, and prob 1 more school)

Becausevideos if u ask me, in both my local community college and university i transfered to, i had to get any statement that proves i reside within the area or county like bank or mail and they like a recent date on it. I saw for out of state tuition is like double the tuition than the in state students. That’s probably why alot of people end up in financial debt because they go to far away colleges and pay for room and board plus food. Its really too much and you’re just one person. Good luck!

I’m really hoping to go to a school in New Jersey. I’m from California so the environment will be very different there. Living in SoCal, I’ve grown up having to know most of the universities around here so wherever they are going, I’m sure it’s a great school 👍 I hope they enjoy it here! I live in California and to put it simply, I kinda hate it here. No to discourage anyone from coming here, it’s just not for me anymore, it’s super expensive and there’s so much crap that goes on 24/7. I would definitely weigh the situation to see if it is the right one for you. It definitely helps to have friends and family somewhat close to where you're going to college (and that was one of the deciding factors of my decision.) For institutions such as Stanford, keep in mind that there will be people there from everywhere (a friend of mine recently joined their class of 2022, and she's from the East Coast) so it should be easier to find friends you can bond with over homesickness.

UCF honestly sucks it's the #1 most overpopulated university in the US. Housing is super expensive and Orlando is ugly. I recommend UF, it's actually cheaper because the housing is super cheap
