New Sub here. Cool to see your video of the area. I camped off Taylor Peak Rd (226) and rode Chloride Canyon (W to E) on a SxS in Nov 2023. Rode all over for 2 days. Moved to Mt. Withington Wilderness area for a few days. Finished out in Manzano area before heading home. Glad I found your channel. I did a lot of research of NM before traveling from Houston for that week of vacation and it was tough to find good intel or footage of the areas I was looking at. I plan on re-visiting Mar. 2024. Good Times.

Thanks for the video. It looks to me that the flood sure changed the trail. I've been thinking about trying it next month. I haven't been in that area since May last year. I really liked the music in this one.

I last did that road back in 2018 in a stock F250 4x4 with open diffs - no problems! Lots of changes apparent in this video, looks like waaaay more fun now! We had camped across from the old cabin before the fire, sad to see it's just a foundation and chimney now.

Yup used to be way easier. We always camp there.

It was nice to see some trucks out there that day. That was my brother and I on the TW200 and Himalayan. Great footage.

Thanks. I don’t know how the heck you can ride through that stuff.

It didn't look too bad, just slow and steady. Looks like only a couple spots around the 10 minute mark +/-. In real time how long did that take and how's the Jeep. My dad has a 2005, straight 6 with about 68K on it. Told him not to sell it. Sat for five years with an electrical problem. Pro mechanics couldn't figure it out. I found it in about 5 minutes, parasitic draw coming from the indoor light. Just pulled the fuse...fixed..

Thanks for sharing, might have to check it out soon. OnX show 8hrs for 157 miles, seems awful quick, is that before the flood?

It looked similar to the difficulty it used to be before the washout/repairs?
@overland505 Жыл бұрын
No, you didn’t even need 4wd before to get through. We’ve done it numerous times before. About the only part that needed 4wd before was when you turned and went up out of the canyon. There have been no repairs and more than likely won’t be as it’s now a motorized trail and not a forest road anymore.

Don’t let the camera fool you, it makes everything look flatter.
