Quill's determination to skip all of the midgame drives entirely is kind of infuriating. He has one of the better early-game drives, yes, but... that's not really going to be enough. Why do you think you can't catch the alien ships? He really needs to move at least to the Firestar, Triton Pulse, or Minimag Orion, all of which I think he has access to right now, before he'll ever be able to afford to make the jump to antimatter.

it's not like it can't be done...I've won the game without the high-acceleration mid-game drives on 0.4. You just have to balance fleets so your total combat power is less than the aliens and they won't run away.

47:00 Ships especially are built in "blocks" (typically of 8 ships), because the Navy doesn't want to have every individual ship a little different, but they take long enough to build that by the time you build it, there are technological improvements to be made for the next "block". The new ones aren't (generally) different enough to be a new "class", with all the green-field development that would imply, but enough that there would be some amount of retraining needed to transfer crew.

Good luck the aliens will be back…and stuff will explode! And as for the manouvering…with your current ships and drives good luck , the aliens can dance all around. Even with high thrust drives manoeuvring isn’t as easy as it could be to actually intercept the baddies. So again good luck! I’m being entertained

Automated mines don't need the radiation shielding and are therefore a lot cheaper wherever there's lots of that.

In previous streams I noticed you were wondering about funding and/or thought funding was bad. Funding is good if you invest in it over time, It can be a trickle or a crap ton and it's great for the quieter luls in the earth side of the game. Funding is really great for Mega democracies, Say your at the start and are planning to unify all of NA together you would invest in a lot of funding in the smaller countries because it transfers over. In a Mega democracy, or a 6 CP democracy you can get either Knowledge sector or Financial sector. The financial sector gives bonus to funding income idk how much of a boost it is but it's noticeable. There are orgs that grant bonus's to funding as well. As a rule of thumb, funding is better in democracies and spoils is better in any nation with a Gov score less than 6. Especially in a Mega authoritarian nation if it has an extractive sector control point. Funding is great for any nations you plan on keeping long term as it doesn't hurt the nation at all but still gives you cash. Exodus has a bonus to funding with their faction org.

Recommendations: 1.). You may want to build a small fleet to intercept individual craft since you lost your fast fleet. 2.). Your battleships need to be upgraded as some of them still have old cannons on them. 3.). The Aliens already hate you so just start blowing up or stealing the Servants bases.

if you're patient enough you can grind down the alien dv until they have to engage, but that's a slog

Yes, and until you eventually develop more efficient engines, you inevitably use more propellant resources than they do.

Spoilers: 2:00:15 Man and this is in 2031 too. So that'd be... roughly 1-2 decades of war depending on whether you use the 2014 or 2022 as the start date for the war and then they'd have to deal with aliens raids too? What a disaster, RIP.

I find some of the things really weird about how they are implemented like the ships are so in depth but yet ground military has pretty much zero depth and even the ground wars have no depth to them
