Hey guys, figured I'd announce here that this channel is going to be dedicated to mostly about my art. Mostly 3D modeling and game design stuff. So if that interests you, be sure to check out my most recent video. I'm hoping maybe to also make tutorials in the future. kzbin.info Edit 02/29/2024: Happy Leap Year! I'm still around, still making 3D art.

Probably my most memorable moment from oblvion (funny-wise anyway) was when I was working on my Hand-to-hand skill and only had a bit left before level 100. So I went to the master Hand-to-hand trainer who's master quest was simply that you had to hurt him with a single punch. I still to this day remember laughing for several minutes when I power punched him and his body did a little hop in the air and he crumpled to the ground dead.

To those who are wondering, this is not a mod of sorts. It is a legitimate thing to do in-game. Also Morrowind was not implemented as an idea in the game the map is there as really undefined meshes since it because an endless land of randomness at a certain point. It's not like 2006 was in the middle ages or anything haha. There were plenty of people running games in 1080p even back then. Although the 1024x768 resultion was way more common. KZbin didn't even allow video's of 720p to be uploaded til late 2008,which might give the impression that games/recordings from before that date were really low quality, but the reality is quite different.

A lot of people liked and commented replying about how they too watched and remembered this video back when KZbin was in its infancy. That old account of mine was deleted by yours truely. I just thought that I should comment once again on this video and maybe in the years to come, people will once again reply and comment about their own memories of this game or anything relating in general. Honestly I didn't think I'd make it this far in life, yet here I still am. I am also very drunk, which explains me being a bit emotional and reminiscing about older times.

The ambient music in this is making me feel so much nostalgia and it's just overwhelming... I played this back when I was 14 and now I'm 24, it was my favourite game ever although I gave up gaming completely at 20, and even at that point I barely played anything since 18, this music brings back memories of how you thought your life would turn out, back when there was so much to look forward to in the foreseeable future, but nothing really ever went to plan, just endless failure in every aspect of life, hearing this game's soundtrack again is enough to cause a complete breakdown for me now, I wish I could go back to being a 14 year old again.

Even though this video is ancient, worth noting that this is easily possible anywhere with setting bBorderRegionsEnabled=0 in your ini. Also, no landscapes in Oblivion are randomly generated in the client, that was just one of Todd's E3 fibs. Oblivion's procedural generation was pre-baked by the devs and everything is static in the Oblivion.esm file, so every player will see the same trees. Land and trees may appear to pop in which could be confused for live generation, but this is due to missing LOD data. Outside the borders we can get a unique look at what the more raw tool-generated terrain looks like before Bethesda touched it up by hand after, so there's a lot more floating trees and terrain bugs.

I was only 10 years old when this was uploaded. My first experience with an Elder Scrolls game was with Skyrim about a year after it released. I played it at a friend's house, and I thought it was the coolest thing I've ever experienced on a console. Got a copy of Skyrim on my own Xbox (that we got the previous Christmas) not much later for my 16th birthday. A few years later, I bought Oblivion on Steam because I heard it was better than Skyrim, in some aspects. I never played it seriously for several months till I started playing it more a year or so ago. It really is a fantastic game, especially in the role playing aspect. I wish I would've had the pleasure of playing this when it released, but we were raised so far up Nintendo's ass, it couldn't have been possible. It's amazing looking back and seeing how much has changed.

these old Oblivion videos were my introduction to youtube. glitches, easter eggs, torturing the adoring fan with midas magic, duping a sea of watermelons in the market district.

So many texture left to waste. Zenimax probably hoped to expand more. Thank goodness they made ESO.
@Floreum9 жыл бұрын
***** Zenimax doesn't touch anything but ESO... Bethesda is the one that makes all the Elder Scrolls games, minus ESO.
@EnchantedSmellyWolf9 жыл бұрын
Floreum Aside of who created you at least agree how so many space it has and the potential it could had for more expansion?
@Floreum9 жыл бұрын
***** What?
@EnchantedSmellyWolf9 жыл бұрын
Floreum Okay you see how there's morrowind? The could have expanded the game and story. That's was the point of this.
@Great.Milenko9 жыл бұрын
***** not really.... typically any 3d environment is almost infinite.... so by that logic ALL games "should go on forever" Keep in mind its basically just a heightmap... I see what you're trying to say, but think of the amount of space they would need on the disc for say, ALL voice actors in the regions, ALL the dungeons, ALL the different assets audio files, meshes, textures, ect.. I would rather have the games set in a single province and have those games FILLED with stuff.. the alternative is to have a HUGE world filled with the same things again and again... like how most dungeons in oblivion were basically the same with a different layout, the trees were pretty much the same 30 trees over the whole world..... i think u get my point :)

Oh the nostalgia of a 6-year old me staying up past 8 to watch this in amazement. Makes me think now, if I get involved creating a game like this, that in some area where you are not supposed to be that is beyond borders, a guy will walk up to you and tell you you aren't allowed back there and teleport your character back into the main area

I remember watching this when I first started playing Oblivion, It's still the best game (In my opinion)
@suzysuz422910 жыл бұрын
*Another way to do this!:* Go into a city and jump over the city wall (you can use the paint brush glitch to get over the city wall). You can then run off into the wilderness and beyond the "invisible barrier" into Morrowind or any of the other provinces. There's no enemies, animals or features on the landscape mind as the game only loads what's inside the city walls. So really, a massive waste of time. :P
