Going to the Maldives, our first international travel since stillbirth

Middle of March, we were looking for our next travel that would take place end of March, beginning of April. It was somehow quite hard for us to pick a destination and in the end we opted for Sri-Lanka. As the Maldives are only 1h away, we also added them to our travel plan.
As all of this was last minute, we opted to start with the Maldives to avoid being there during easter holidays. And after checking online and struggling to decide if we wanted the overwater villa experience that cost a fortune, we decided to experience the Maldives on a budget, or mid-budget.
And that’s how we found the island of Maafushi and Dhigurah.
But, before going further with that, let’s rewind. And start from the beginning of the adventure. Going to the Maldives. Which this video will be about.

Who are TheDailyPackers?! Alex & Tina & Poppy!?
We are just a regular couple sharing our daily life, travels and the story of Poppy, our stillborn son.
Our story started in China in 2014 where we met, and we lived 3 years. Since then, we have been to more than 41 countries together.
I am French and Tina is Serbian. We are now based in Strasbourg, France. The Daily Packers is original our travel blog where we share our experience travelling, wrote guides and reviews. Slowly it also became a place where we share some of our life.
Beginning 2023, we also started vlogging on KZbin as we wanted our son Poppy to see how we lived, travel and saw the world.
The 25 November 2023 should have been the happiest day of our life, sadly it marked the hardest days of our life. On that day our perfect baby boy, Poppy, was stillborn.
Vlogging and blogging is just a passion at the moment. I still have a full-time job and Tina is focusing on developing an online Yoga platform and studio.
