Going-to-the-Sun Road - a Solo Motorcycle Journey to the Arctic (S2:E10)

Departing Banff, Chad makes a brief stop in Waterton Lakes National Park, before crossing the US border, en route to Glacier National Park in Montana. Up at daybreak, he tackles the impressive, albeit crowded, Going-to-the-Sun Road. The 50 mile stretch of asphalt through the rugged Rocky Mountains took 12 years to complete, and is well worth the wait!
Departing the Rockies one last time, he rides south into Idaho, where he finds himself in the middle of the 130,000 acre Moose Fire along the banks of the Salmon River...

@@TwoWheelsThreeSheets I spent a little over a week there this July/Aug and got lucky a couple days with little traffic and parking at the hikes we wanted... other days it was a total cluster. Hit or miss. Overall though Glacier is my favorite NP in the US... although watching your vids I think you've convinced me there's a lot more I'll need to explore north from there!

I took a ride from my home in northeastern Minnesota to Boise, Idaho, and then up through Central Idaho to Kalispell, Montana. I left Kalispell and rode the Going to the Sun Road west to east before heading home. So far it’s my favorite ride. I’ve driven Beartooth Pass but I’m not ridden it yet. Enjoyed your video but I really wish you wash your windscreen it really took away from the beauty of where you're riding and we couldn't see anything but the dirty windscreen

Yeah... a lot of people have made the same observation. I didn't really realize until checking the footage after I returned from the trip. The good news is there's only one video left with the dirty windscreen, which drops tomorrow at noon. Rose and I are back in Patagonia now and will be posting videos of our Journeys through South America soon - and I promise to keep the windscreen clean!! 😉

Great visuals but unfortunately accompanied by a detached, boring and sterile narrative. As such I won’t be subscribing or putting myself through the tortuous narrative again. It’s a real shame, the rides promised so much but in the end failed dismally to deliver.
