The chorus and the lead into it, on this song, use the same chord progression/sequence as Down In The Tube Station At Midnight (albeit in a different key) - four singles before their big breakthrough for The Jam with this tune: Going Underground (it was pretty much No1's all the way till their split at the end of 1982 after this). Classic stuff and a great tutorial to boot...

Hey, Jason great lesson, thanks. I'm wondering though, there's a very small section between the first riff and the Pre-chorus chords - only lasts for a couple of seconds (if you watch the original video on youtube it starts at 18s). Cheers

For anyone who foolishly agrees with this... KZbin allows you to playback at .75X .5X and .25X. An easy fix if you need videos like this slower so you can actually catch what is going on, especially the first time through.
