good idea. I have a roof on mine, but it wouldn't help you much because of the different dimensions. It also has quite a bit of a gap to the spindle housing. If your compressor is still too loud I'd look out for an used rotary screw compressor. They're more efficient as well but not as cheap. For the acrylic glass behind the ATC, I recommend the acrylic glass glue "Acrifix", I made some washout booths long time ago and it kind of "welds" the edges together, probably more durable than the sheet itself 👍

cool, ill definitely look into buying a rotary screw compressor.

What is the air compressor sitting on or touching, sounds like vibrations making the noise. If you sat the compressor on rubber or springs that would absorb a lot of the vibrations and potentially the noise, also making sure nothing touches. Did a radio station not long ago and each radio box was a seperate structure independent to the surrounding walls supported on rubber feet. Our air cons had springs to absorb the vibrations and minimise the sound from the vibrations alone.

yup, i have a square of shag carpet on a concrete floor, rubber feet on the compressor, then a wooden box lined with shag. thermoswitch for the fan, then intake /exhaust tubes lined with shag, no direct line of sight into the box for the flow paths (so noise has no straight shot out.) Def want the compressor not in contact with the box in any way, not even via rubber.

Stick polyurethane rigid panels on the inside of your walls inside the machine.

For soundproofing your cabinet walls, this styrofoam is useless. Mass is the name of the game here. Half a day cheap solution: take your current cabinet outside, on a pallet, replace styrofoam with some chicken coop wire mesh, pour concrete in there (you may want to add some temporary support to the side plates). While it dries, go find anything 5cm thick and stick it underneath the machine’s feet.

Polyurethane spray foam does a better job to reduce noise.
