It closed again in 2016 & just re-opened recently & this is now a 3rd-party destination-dispatch & has Dewhurst inside.

I hate what they did to the monument elevator. It is the same when I rode it before the earthquake, but the fact that they put on Smart Glass so you can only see out when they let you is something I do NOT like. They should let you see out all the time. The way they cram people in the elevator is similar to in my dorm at American University during camp. We all crammed in their tiny elevators intentionally.

That elevator was RUINED! It was hand-operated, solid doors, and a small window where the operator sat, so they could align the cab with the floors. The shaft was open, so you could see the stairwell as you went up.
