In 🇨🇦 we get yearly paps, every two years breast exams. There is no messing around with our health, after years of consuming other animal hormones. Plus, some menopausal people get hormone therapy which increases their risk even further (dr.pam popper just released some videos). Getting screened is easy.

Cancer has more to do with the other toxic substances she could possibly be exposed to in daily life, poor diet in the past, or too much sunlight (skin cancer). Oh yeah, farmed salmon is also one of the most toxic foods on the planet at the moment. Maybe she had too much of those.

I have Pompholyx (also known as dyshidrotic eczema). In my case, it got so bad I couldn't even walk on carpet without thick fuzzy socks because every surface I stepped on hurt my feet. I had large patches of blistering skin that cracked and bled. One of the first suspects looked at was a nickel allergy. And one of the first results in google for this condition says it's caused by, "a reaction to something that has touched your skin - such as certain metals (particularly nickel)" I went to several very expensive dermatologists, avoided nickel in every possible way (including not wearing jeans that might have nickel snaps), and the amount of Rx creams I used was crazy. Every doctor seemed to think that it was either poor hygiene (a fungus or something) or an allergy- and I was frequently shamed by nurses and practitioners for the state of my feet (though my hands were also affected- just not as bad). Then I got a job working outside for 8+ hrs a day and suddenly my feet started getting better. The difference was remarkable. I started doing some research and Vitamin D is actually an essential vitamin when it comes to epithelial cells adhering to each other. The increase in vitamin D by being outside basically allowed my skin to keep itself together. It turns out that my mother and several cousins with similar or the same problems also test low for Vit d. in their blood work. That whole time I was just lacking a key component to helping my skin maintain it's cohesion. These days I still get occasional blisters (don't work outside anymore), but I take a D3 supplement and I can touch or wear as much nickel as the next guy without it causing a problem. I lived with this debilitating issue for almost 4 years before stumbling onto an answer. I'm not saying this person doesn't have a legitimate allergy... but my experience is that doctors aren't all-knowing wizards, and anyone who recommends that someone with a nickel allergy eat fish doesn't know what the fuck they're talking about.

I’ve been tracking my meals and he seemed shocked when I told him I was averaging about 120g of protein per day. Then I told him that I was in 5 pills (medications & supplements) per my doctor’s orders before I switched and I’m taking none now. My blood chemistry was “perfect” at my physical in November. Systemic contact dermatitis to nickel is not controversial. While it primarily manifests with skin rashes, including hand eczema, it is not uncommon for the person to also have symptoms of headaches, muscle aches, joint aches, fever, and diarrhea. It can happen from metal plates that are used in fixing fractures, and also to oral surgical implants and yes the person has to go on a low nickel diet when this happens.

@zakosist
@zakosist 4 жыл бұрын
In that case I might acutally agree with you. Bulimia is more of a mental disorder than a physical one. Well unless there was something purely physical that started it in this case... Like the food failing to satisfy you, which of course lead to overeating. Or if the digestion doesnt work properly (which is almost garanteed related to the food in some way) so you physically feel the urge to throw up, or you want to relieve the actual pain it causes. Im actually a bit in doubt because there could potentially be something physical that started it (also a chance it was not). Ive tried a vegan diet myself before, and one of the main problems was constantly getting hungry despite eating a lot. I dont have that problem when eating meat. But vegan foods, even that roghly match the calorie content of meat arent even half as satisfying

I have a nickel allergy as well and it's a tough situation - when I first found out a couple years ago I also went on a low-nickel diet and stopped wearing jewelry with nickel, however, it is true that a low nickel diet will definitely limit what you can eat in the vegetable choices (just like a gluten free diet limits what vegan meat alternatives you can eat) - i just choose to ignore the eczema whenever i eat too much of a high-nickel food or gluten.

I am vegan and gluten intolerant and I don't think it is hard to eat with these "restrictions". Just cook your own meals. Some situations in life are really tough, one that comes to my mind: being a single mother with 2 jobs and still struggling to make ends meet. That does look very hard to me. But being vegan and gluten-intolerant???? It doesn not come any close to the pain felt caused by these horrible cramps I used to have on my period when I used to eat of everything. I can confidently say life is good now :-)

Rachael Tucker I have been gluten free for 10 months and have had no problems! Yes you can’t eat impossible, field roast, tofurky or gardein but you can eat Beyond if you want something processed..or just certain legumes, much healthier and cheaper. I have even done vegan keto for months and haven’t complained about it! If you keep thinking it’s hard and your choices are limited, you will experience just that. Try to be creative and do as much as you can with what you are allowed to eat. When I went vegan 7 years ago I sat down and wrote a long list of meals I could prepare, several pages long. People kept telling me that it’s a limited diet and that I would starve, but I had recipes for months and I was having fun cooking and experimenting, not concentrating on the limitations.

It is very restrictive, but I am still vegan and always will be. It does not impair a person's ability to be vegan, but it does make it harder. Symptoms are itching, gastrointestinal symptoms, dizziness, muscle and joint pain, and flu-like symptoms.

So we all absorb food differently and have different food intolerances. That’s why some people feel great on the vegan diet while some get sick all the time. The same is for carnivore diet. The same is for keto diet. Believe me. I am immunologist. Just stay away from the processed food and try to do combination diet and you’re gonna be fine. My only option was to continue with my plant based diet and avoiding those kinds of food and supplement with vitamins (Why??) or re-introduce fish and eggs. My gut improved immediately and the allergies cleared. I still don’t eat meat products, milk cheese etc, but I eat fish and occasional eggs. Everyone knows their own body, don’t make those that follow a lifestyle that works for them health wise feel bad about it, let’s respect our personal choices. Peace.

Actually, at the present time, despite decades of propaganda telling them they must eat meat and dairy daily, the trend in places like America is more low-meat diets, more vegetarians, and more vegans. As people get smarter about a balanced vegan diet and there's more social support for it, it will get easier and easier. And we really have to slash consumption of beef, mutton, and goat meat in order to save Earth's ecosystems, so that's another upside of this shift.

A consultant is a Dr title in the UK. It's a senior hospital based physician and they have a specialization. Usually in the UK you see a general practitioner who is like your family doctor and if there is enough of an issue then you get sent to a big hospital to see the consultant who specialises in a certain area. I've only seen a neurology consultant and he was older for sure. I think they've done something like 11-13 years of study just to qualify as a consultant. They're pretty high up but I'm not sure what the US equivalent is. Resident? Is it a resident?? I don't know

Hey! I am wanting to try a Vegan challenge for a month. I want to try to live a month eating vegan food, but I don't know what's vegan or not. Any suggestions or personal experiences as to how y'all stayed constant on the vegan diet?

I wonder if her depression was caused by vitamin D deficiency. Fish is high on this vitamin and she said she felt better after eating it.
