So I guess to make those 'open bends' you need a headstock that has a long low string. My guitar has a pretty short string between the tuning peg and the nut making bending the string pretty difficult and I'd just probably use the tremolo

Yes, reverse headstocks really help with the "zero fret bend", especially without any lock on the neck... Maybe the trem will do the trick for you 🔥

@@LuisFerrazMusic well, I used to have the tremolo "locked" with extra springs so it rested against a spacer i made, that way I could ditch the locks.
