I’m suffering from severe tinnitus and some hearing loss today because I refused to wear earplugs for 30 years of concert going and days in my band. Loud environments are extremely uncomfortable bordering on painful and I struggle at concerts today even with earplugs. PSA: WEAR YOUR EARPLUGS OR YOU’LL REGRET IT LATER.

Here is the earplugs debate in a nutshell: You can hear it perfectly (without earplugs) once, and then maybe never hear anything right again. A lot of us back in the 70's and 80's decided to take that bet. It took me literally a month to recover from a Metallica concert in Dallas in 1993.

This is my favorite song of all time. I get chills every single time I hear it, without fail. The pure artistic expression of musicianship married perfectly with lyrics that have an intense message, with point and purpose, all wrapped up with a neat little bow by some of the best to ever do it. Hands down, my Best Song Ever.

Gojira is the best saw them the first time in Toledo, OH with lamb of god I think In 2007. I was a long term fan after that. Their style and sound is so unique. I can’t go a week without listening to them. 15 years since and a fan till I die. They’re always been on their own plane sound wise, I’m glad you guys covered this. A testament to your wide range of taste and a love for music in general.

Earplugs are for avoiding permanent hearing loss only. If the sound is loud enough to cause you physical pain in your ears, wear the earplugs. No matter how much it affects the quality of sound at a concert, that's only a temporary experience whereas tinnitus is forever.

The venue in Colorado is Red Rocks Amphitheater. I saw Megadeth there back in the 90s. Breathtaking vistas and OUTSTANDING sound quality without being deafening. \,,/
