I'm new to Gojira but I'm already so hooked on them. Their songs are masterpieces both in the lyrical and musical sense. From the songs I have heard (Born in Winter, Explosia, Oroborus), I can tell these guys are not your average metal band. Their lyrics are profound in a universal sense. Their songs are lyrical about the universe's creation, humanity, consciousness, morality, etc. Even the term Ouroborus is basically the never-ending snake or "tail-devourer" (esoteric symbol of a snake eating itself) which is a symbol of the cycle of our universe, life out of death. I love these guys, would be fun to have a cold beer with them and discuss their philosophy and inspiration lol.

Lema A you gotta give flying whales, that whole album of from Mars to Sirius, so amazing. This album is also superb, but they've refined their sound quite a bit. I'm a big big fan of Backbone, for example, but Flying Whales is always their song to be. Toxic Garbage Island also good

_ S. I listened to From Mars to Sirius as well as other works by them and it just makes me love them more. Yeah Flying Whales is amazing and I love Backbone and Where Dragons Dwell. I still need to listen to Toxic Garbage Island. I hate that I didn't discover them earlier, I didn't know what I was missing out on! Also Mario is a god at drums, for some reason I like his drumming in the Cell more than others even though he went much harder in other songs.

If I were to get another tattoo it would be the ouroborus symbol or the caduceus. Most people don't realize that it's the same thing in a different symbol. Kindalini in the upanishads speak of the coiled serpent at the base of the spine that has its own tail in its mouth. Rising up the spine to ignite the third eye. Obviously he (or whoever wrote the song) had a Kundalini awakening like me. The statement of seeing it cause he's a child is a reference to being able to finish the process of spiritual inner evolution, you have to find your inner child to see what it has to offer.
