The drummer and the singer/guitarists are Brothers. This song is about their mother. They got called home while on tour because their mom was dying and they wrote this song. They are a unbelievable band with tons of talent. Great reaction! Please do more Gojira

This album was recorded by Joe and Mario Duplantier (guit. and drums) and is an memorial to their mother's recent death... very different album more melodic, but emotional as hell.....Listen to any track from their past albums.. they are a band at the forefront currently...."Lowlands" of this same album is great...Opeth is also recommended....the album "Watershed"....

Nice! Stoked you guys are getting into heavier stuff and enjoying it (so far...Gojira can be more “extreme” than this, but they balance it more than others)! And with this and Jinjer, y’all have gone international! With that in mind, got some recommendations for ya, though with a caveat-you guys picked up the lyrics great with Gojira, but my humble requests may be slightly more challenging as a couple are in foreign languages. If y’all do chose any of these, I highly recommend the official music videos but would have the lyrics on standby, just in case. In no order- Alien Weaponry “Raupatu”-3 teenagers (drummer & guitarist are brothers) from New Zealand singing in their native Maori. Sepultura “Ratamahatta” or “Refuse/Resist”-from Brazil, and again drummer & guitarist/singer are brothers. First song is in Portuguese, with lots of traditional percussion, second is a straight banger in English. Thy Art Is Murder “Holy War”-from Australia and just brutal. Particularly well written lyrics though the video is kinda heavy-handed, but worth the watch. Thanks for reading my rambling, keep up the great vids, and cheers to you both!! 🤘🔥🤘

No matter what the artists original intention was with the lyrics, I love that certain bands are open to personal interpretation. I leaned on this track for similar reasons when I first heard it. Gojira are a French, vegan, environmentalist metal band... brothers Joe and Mario are very close, and Christian and Jean-Michel have all been in the group since they were in their teens. Their mother was very supportive of their Group, and found a drum teacher for Mario when he was 11. The song is from the album "Magma"... ten days into recording, their mother died unexpectedly. She had been receiving cancer treatment, but had a heart attack. The song was written by Joe about her being gone... the video is a bit strange, but if you see it as a woman invaded by an illness, and shutting out her children, it makes sense. Joe and Mario's sister Gabrielle did the video and photography... "leave the moment alone" is Joe telling himself to stop thinking about her last moments, because he was not there for her.
