The reason he couldn't do red is because at this point, he was incapable of reversed cursed energy which is what red utilizes. The part when shoko explains reversed cursed energy and gojo and geto wre confused further exemplifies that he did not have a handle on it at the time. This is why at present time, he is able to use it effortlessly, showing his mastery over both cursed and reversed cursed energy.

What makes it special is that the quality doesn't drop off after this, and only gets better (the only exception being the episode where Itadori fights the grasshopper guy, but even then, that episode is better than a normal run-of-the-mill anime episode). It feels like the stars aligned for this season, with the only hurdles being the whole dimming/ghosting dilemma, but even then, that all got fixed in the blu-ray.

Honestly no. I’m all for appreciating work people put in but animation throughout this season looked awful. It’s okay in fights but in everything else the animation is very jarring. From the lack of detail to the horrible movements to characters looking like they just placed figurines in a pre rendered world it doesn’t look good. Ofc it’s subjective and if you like this sort of thing more power to you but you are allowed to also criticize things while still appreciating the work being put into it. But both the quality and quantity of the work has dropped since season 1

While the art style is subjective, animation is not. The entire reason behind the art style change was to simplify the character designs in favor of smoother animation. Gojo’s glasses are completely blacked out, a normal person wouldn’t be able to see out of them, but even while fully covering his eyes he can still see way better than a normal person. His six eyes are a trait not a technique and they allow him to see cursed energy at extremely great detail, thats why he can figure out how someone’s technique works just by looking at them. He can also see very far with them and he covers them bc of how straining it is to see stuff with that much detail.

And he used the reverse curse energy to mitigate the damage to brain due to constantly (even if weakened by the blindfold) turned on Six Eyes.

Explaining Gojo's technique time! Limitless is the one that lets him do all this crazy stopping attacks and flying and junk. Six Eyes is what lets him see. Just, everything. Combining the two is what gives him broken everything. How Limitless works is this. Anything moving towards him hits Infinity. IE anything moving at Gojo, stops. If Gojo collapses his Infinity, he can make a vacuum and PULL things. If Gojo REVERSES Infinity, he creates Red, which pushes things away with extreme force. This is what he failed to do, he doesn't know how to REVERSE cursed energy, this technique is also how you heal yourself and rarely, others. If Gojo does BOTH of these steps at the same time, which is broken beyond belief, he creates Purple, which is basically a black hole in that anything that touches it doesn't get to exist anymore. Cursed Spirits are masses of cursed energy, even when Gojo ripped Jogo's head off he didn't die, but it did take some time to recover his energy and heal, however as just a head he seemed more angry than injured. Purple GRAZED Hanami, and Hanami acted on the verge of death. Purple is just that powerful.

You missed a pretty important piece of info that explains gojos power level but it was easy to miss. in season one gojo says he is constantly non-stop running his limitless technique so nothing can ever touch him. however in this episode, while they were out of danger the star Plasmar vessel slaps Gojo in the face and they purposely put a red mark on his face and he said owe meaning he didn't have his technique running and he can't run it all the time yet. he also mentioned later in the episode that it takes a lot of energy to run the technique while he was fighting the clone guy. he also mentioned he doesn't understand reverse curse technique yet. so these are just a few things he doesn't have the power to do yet even though he is still considered one of the strongest sorcerers

I mean, you'll find, just like I found, that a lot of manga readers who watched the dub saying thats what they originally imagined he'd sound like. Even when the sub was originally coming out, A LOT of the fans were talking about how his voice is taking a bit of getting used to. Mostly because he's a lot less built in the manga and more savage looking, where the dub voice matches quite well.

reverse curse technique is something natural to a curse, but almost impossible to humans. i say almost because RCT is something humans naturally shouldn't be capable of, but shoko can, so almost. in theory, with enough mastery to limitless and six eyes, a member of the gojo clan can acquire RCT, but as per stated, it has been centuries since anyone has gotten both until Satoru. at this point in the plot, satoru still hasnt understood RCT and could only use the Blue which is a product of the Limitless Technique.

it's not impossible for humans to use rct it's just extremely difficult to learn the skill. Also curses cant use rct, it's physically impossible for them to do so, it goes against their nature. They heal using regular curse energy since they're made up of entirely ce, only sorcerers are needed to use rct to heal

@@farsous10 Mostly the physics of Gojo's technique vs his domain vs the six eyes. In my mind, the hollows and infinity are kind of two different powers even though I know Gege wrote it to be different applications of just one

@@erincarlson2797 no problem, I'll explain all of it in simple terms, I apologize cuz it's long, but it really does explain it well I hope. First things first you need to know what six eyes are. his eyes aren't a technique, it's a genetic mutation that only a gojo clan member can have. In this era it's satoru gojo who has it. It's not a technique but it has a lot of benefits that helps him as if it's a technique. a) he can see flows of curse energy on others, thats why he can see yujis curse energy when he showed up during the hanami fight or when he saw sukuna curse energy within yuji. b) he can see curse energy residuals on buildings/places, like how he saw geto's curse energy in the building where yuta and inumaki fought the curse in the movie. c) he can read other people's techniques just by looking at them, like how he knew exactly the technique of the clone guy in season 2 works without explanation from the guy. Or how he can tell yuji would eventually have sukuna's technique just by looking at him. d) he can control curse energy perfectly better than anyone else which gives him the best curse energy efficiency in the verse. Limitless is his technique, it's literally just space manipulation. Under normal circumstances, it's actually impossible to use, if anyone else has this technique it would be as if they didnt have a technique in the first place cuz you literally cant use it, since limitless is space manipulation at the atomic level which no one can do or perceive. Thats where the eyes come in, since gojo has perfect ce control to the atomic level, paired up with the limitless allows him to use it. so it's the perfect combo. Infinity is the default use of limitless, he adds a space between himself and others and they can never touch him. Imagine reading a book, and gojo is the last page, and you start off from page 1 trying to read each page to reach the last one, but theres infinite number of pages in between the first and last. The more you read you're technically closer to gojo since you're not on the first page anymore, but you can never reach him cuz theres infinite number of pages in between. He can also widen the infinity space, just like he did in season 2 when he increased the space of his infinity to push back hanami to the wall and crushing her as he walked towards her. Blue is pulling things or people towards a focal point. Like how he pulled two of the clone guys towards each other, or pulled the house apart in first episode of season2 where utahime and Mei Mei was at. The anime didnt really explain that it was gojo properly. Red is only possible if you know reverse curse technique. Using reverse curse energy to use reverse curse technique is a healing ability, but if you know how to imbue it into your actual technique, you reverse the effects. So since every technique is powered by curse energy, when gojo uses reverse curse energy instead of curse energy to power blue, it turns from pulling things to pushing things. Red is 2x more powerful than blue because reverse curse technique takes twice as much curse energy to perform.
