As Jogo mentioned, Gojo doesn't really have a force field around him, it's just that the closer you get, the slower you move. It's even scarier than a force field, cuz one could eventually be broken, but as long as it is an attack that has to make any form of contact with Gojo to damage him it will never hit him, cuz as long as infinity is active. It will take an infinite amount of time for something to touch him

I read a comment on a video of this fight that explained Gojo’s “infinity” protection way better than this, but a (potentially overly-simplistic) way of thinking of it is that objects can asymptotically approach Gojo, but that’s it. It’s the same as looking at a graph of 1/infinity - as you approach infinity, the number gets really, really, really small, but it never actually hits 0. And as others have said, the closer you get, the slower you move, so it’s that much harder to actually touch Gojo.

Gojo effectively has an infinite space that is condensed in a limited radius around him, so anything that requires distance cannot hit him. That is why his technique is called "infinity" and might be the scariest defensive powers I have ever seen. Besides "abstact" powers, nothing can actually damage him. But Nobara could actually transcend infinity if she has a piece of Gojo's body, and she might be the only character that you guys have seen to be able to do so.

It is actually pretty scary, but it is not like you actually require something like abstract powers. Some abilities just do things to people if they enter a certain area, or you just aim them at someone and "poof" it just happens. Other people can just outright make shit happen inside someone. A simple, quick, dirty example is a beast called Behemoth from a web serial called Worm, which can make extremely high temperatures just magically appear inside the body of anyone that gets closer enough. Such powers are deceptively common if you talk about fiction as a whole, but sadly for almost everyone in Jujutsu Kaisen, such powers aren't common at all. Alternatively, powers that are like Gojo's and define that reality now works a certain way (since he's essentially dividing the space around him in infinite subsections, which is not how it works in real life). Depending how their rules work, they could perhaps piece through. Fictional stories have come up with some very creative shit over the years.

But there is a reason Jujutsu Kaisen does not have those, since they are quite absurdly powerfull and most shows do not use their max potential. For example, having telekinesis is a very common power in most fantasy shows, but no one actually uses it to just grasp someones heart. I also am not sure if effects that require someone to step inside an area would activate on Gojo, since he probably is not stepping inside that area.

They leave certain details hanging so openly that people can't help but imagine things. For example, if field of sight were necessary to exercise your telekinesis, or the necessity to "feel" the things you manipulate but these senses being unable to get past obstructions (all that muscle and flesh and bone). A few series do go into those nitty gritties more often, and unsurprisingly, it's those kind of series that tend to have the protagonist abuse the limits of their powers. A good example is Death Mage doesn't Want a Fourth Time, where the protagonist has no way to get powerful magic and the little he has access to isn't enough to overpower his opponent. So he relies on regeneration and acting to let the dude cut him, throwing his own blood all over the other dude, said blood being poisoned. And yeah, I can see I didn't catch that. very much my bad.

Or it simply didn't enter their attention. If it was pertinent to the plot, I don't doubt it would appear. Some stories also simply don't have the deeper details of their magical system as the main focus even if the characters are highly strategical. If it's not pertinent to a scene or explained out-of-story for fun, it could easily not come up.

Infinity, as simplest as I can describe it, Take 100%. Cut that in half, got 50, then 25, then 12.5, then 6.75, on and on. The opponent can more or less only travel half distances at a time if that makes sense The more you divide in half, the closer the opponent will get to Gojo. But because dividing by anything will never give you 0 which equates to touching Gojo. Meaning he can't physically be touched unless he wills it. The closer they are, the slower they go

You saw that octopus looking thing in the water? It's his domain : "Horizon of The Captivating Skandha". It is naturally a calm domain. Gojo's power is less forcefield and more like a weird mix of Space Manipulation and Time Dilation. That's how I get myself to understand it anyway. The way I get myself to understand it is that it's like he's manipulating space to fold around him an infinite number of times. His opponents have to cross that space to hit him, but there's so much space that needs to be crossed that it's impossible to actually do so unless you yourself have the ability to give something an almost infinite amount of energy to cross the infinite layers of space around him. I dunno if that way of thinking overcomplicates the actual ability or not, but to me that explanation is easier to understand than what most people explain it as. People like to say it's impenetrable, but if you say that it completely loses me. I can't process that information because it's impossible to rationalize. My mind needs to have a psuedo-scientific explanation, or else the info doesn't register properly. I can't understand that something is impenetrable. I CAN understand that firing a bullet through lined up pieces of wood will need more kinetic energy than firing it through lined up pieces of paper, and that even with the paper, enough packed tightly enough together can stop the bullet dead in it's tracks as it runs out of kinetic energy.

Now you might understand why I referred to Gojo as literal Jujutsu-Jesus last Reaction :D A little hint about Hanamis' Speech (the Flower Curse): It is just regular Speech, but backwards. Even the Subtitles are just reversed and you can read what he/she says from right to left. The Anime doesn't really get this across too well, it is much clearer in the Manga. Now, about Domain Expansion; I won't Spoiler you here, but as far as your current Information goes: It is the "Pinnacle" of Jujutsu Sorcery, and any Human or Curse could theoretically produce and learn the Expansion of a Domain. It takes a HUGE amount of cursed Energy tho and only the most adept Sorcerers are able to pull it off; if we're talking Curses only the Special Grade MIGHT have the Potential to do so. Domains give their Users a huge Stat Boost as well as guaranteed hits on their Attacks, they also trap their Enemy inside and make an Escape pretty much impossible. I guess you could enter a Domain from the Outside (which would be Suicide tho), but escaping it is in most Cases impossible. Try to see it as a Barrier that is impenetrable from the Inside but easy to access from the Outside.The only Way to defeat a Domain is to lay out your own and have it be the more refined one - but you never know if that's actually the Case beforehand. The more powerful Domain overtakes the Space, but if you are not Gojo Satoru this is always quite the Gamble :D (I mean his just wins xD ) You btw even got a Glimpse at Sukuna's Domain, in which he absolutely decimated the Special Grade Curse a couple Episodes ago. It is called "Malevolent Shrine" and is obviously gonna play a major Role later on, so you might as well learn to recognize it early :D Oh and lastly, about the 31st of October mentioned by Geto. It IS Halloween, and as we know, Curses live and thrive on Fear, Hate and negative Emotions - so it is pretty much their "strongest" Day all Year. They can absorb the most Amount of Energy from the Population, so you can understand it as Demons attacking at Night (a little Demon Slayer Reference here). You're waffling - that doesn't actually have anything to do with Gojo's infinity but yes, what you say is also true. We never 'touch' anything, in the strict mathematical sense, but simply feel electrostatic repulsion. That doesn't stop you from exerting force though, so it doesn't have anything to do with Gojo's Infinity, which prevents him from taking a hit. The explanation given in the manga is as follows - the closer you are to Gojo, the slower you move, such that you can never actually reach him. It's asymptotic behaviour - you can get arbitrarily close without touching him, and with 'infinite time' you would touch him. This is unrelated to how you can't strictly make contact with atoms of another body, which wouldn't save anybody from Jogo's attacks in the real world.

there are whole THESES being written about gojo's powers and exactly how they work - but you can think of gojo's barrier as a materialisation of 'achilles and the tortoise' if you're familiar with that. In Achilles and the tortoise, the idea is that Achilles can never catch up to a tortoise in a race if the tortoise is given a head start, because once he gets to the tortoise's initial location from the start of the race, the tortoise will have already moved on a certain distance. Then, once Achilles reaches that distance, the tortoise would've moved on again. Even though Achilles appears to be closing in on the tortoise, he can only ever reach the distance gained by the tortoise with its head start, so he never actually catches up. Obviously, this isn't how things actually work in real life, but Gojo's power enables that sort of paradox. That's why 'the closer you get, the slower you go', he basically makes it seem like you're getting closer while keeping an infinite distance between them. It's also worth mentioning that he can control the size of his infinity too, so even when he holds Jogo's hand or beats the shit out of him, he's still not actually touching him himself. The only way to hit him is with a domain or with an attack with no travel time (although light still seems to travel to his eyes so maybe you could blind him or something)

It's never mentioned in the anime but in the manga the author mentioned in a note that Gojo, and Nanami as well for that matter, cover their eyes because curses hate being looked at, it makes them aggressive since humans normally can't see them. So a lot of Sorcerers wear some sort of eye coverage as to not irritate curses unnecessarily. It has nothing to do with their powers.
