Part of the reason I’m so conflicted is because narratively there’s nothing wrong with Yuta puppeting Gojo’s corpse. Gege’s set up a world where this act of desperation makes sense. However, it still feels dirty. Despite the fact that the plan makes sense, it still feels like Gojo’s corpse is being paraded around, kinda like a repercussion for the people who wanted Gojo to come back. I guess it’s because I kind of thought the fight was ending ngl. I was part of the camp that thought this was Gojo’s ghost coming back to taunt Sukuna from beyond the grave before Yuji killed home.

Hear me out. Maybe Gege has been cooking this whole time and people are caught up in the moment of 261. The shibuya incident gave us a key takeaway : kenjaku losing control of geto's body and revealing that the body and soul are one and the same. Yuta's backstory paints the picture that his relationship with Rika would always be a curse at best and knowing he can't let go of her she stays with him Fast forward, go/jo happens (rest in 2 pieces) and he's seen talking to geto about going north to be reborn or going south to return as he once was. But this exchange would require him losing something. Yuta , on the verge of death, uses kenjaku's ct to swap into gojo's body but the unknown is what happens after 5 mins. I'm guessing: 5 minutes go, and yuta doesn't keep ownership of the body. BUT gojo's spirit arrives and yuta becomes what's "given up" in order for gojo to return to as he was by traveling south. Yuta can now RIP with Rika and gojo can aid todo/yuji in the final minutes of the battle. Still think gojo/todo will die again but if they could eliminate sukuna's ce/ct , it'd come down to a brawl which favors yuji x1000

7:36 Most probably why Yuta able to copy Inumaki's CT without eating a part of him is due to the fact that Yuta had copied it before the "actual" Rika had departed. Rika was basically an unlimited storage of cursed energy before she was freed, so may be that amount of CE boosted Yuta's ability to copy whatever CT he saw. Similar to how Todo changed the parameters of CT from a clap to a vibraslap hit, Yuta probably changed his CT parameters from consuming a whole lot of CE to copy someone's CT to Rika eating a part of their body (and thereby their CE) to be able to copy a CT without as much CE cost. We also see that before Rika is freed, Yuta uses a medium (the megaphone) to use cursed speech which is not the case after Rika is freed.

He's not using it effortlesly. He only did DE once with this part of the brain. Before Gojo fried the original part of the brain that he used to open his domain, Sukuna was already able to open it multiple times. So he's probably able to open it the same amount again since he didn't had to brute force rct to use his CT again which was the action that fucked up Gojo brain for good. If yuta wins this clash, Sukuna will have to rct his own brain and suffer major damage just like Gojo.

I’m gonna say it, I love this. This chapter shows the true desperation the Shinjuku Squad has at this point. They have exchausted all their weapons, all their techniques, and it isn’t enough. Moreover, every single part of this situation doesn’t contradict anything we know as readers, nor does it feel like an asspull. It’s honestly just showing us how strong Sukuna is, that they’ve had all these plans made, all these contingencies, but they have to fall back on Gojo and may even have ti subsequently sacrifice their second strongest ally as well for them to win. Regardless of whether not Yuta survives, this is a wake up call for the Jujutsu Sorcerors. Gojo is dead, and they needed to takeover his corpse for a chance at victory. Will someone as strong as Sukuna ever show up again? Probably not. But even so, the fact that they relied so much on one man that they needed to PILOT HIS CORPSE to win speaks volumes.

People seem to have a hard time understanding the difference between something making sense in universe and something making sense narratively. Like this is an ongoing story so stuff is all subject to change based on information that we might find out later, but the excuse "this make sense, it's to show us how strong Sukuna is" as if this one fight having already lasted almost 1/5 of the manga's total length hasn't done this already (or that simply "this character is strong" is good enough as a theme to carry a story to begin with, especially around a character that we have such little to attach ourselves to other than being a currently lingering threat for the protagonists to deal with) is enough to justify everything that happens is really lazy handwaving. People who can attach themselves to this character will cry "reading comprehension" and cite the various statements about him "holding back" despite everything we've been visibly shown to be happening on panel and the contradictory statements about how weak he should be in his current state. It really feels less like Sukuna's a well written and narratively consistent villain and more like he's a boss in a video game that needs to be in the story later so, even if you literally 100-0 him in the actual fight, the game doesn't let him lose his last hitpoint or the story will just show you losing in the cutscene afterwards. It also doesn't help that Sukuna is "strong" in the most boring and direct way possible. He doesn't really fight in any interesting way, he just lets people wail on him for some arbitrary amount of time and for seemingly no reason before the story decides to let him use one of the same like 4 moves to win the exchange and reset any momentum the protagonists build up. Like mechanically, everything that we're being shown in this chapter makes sense as to why and how Yuta's doing what he is. It's just that NARRTATIVELY speaking, why do we NEED to do this? Why does Sukuna NEED to be able to use another domain expansion in his current state even though he just used one that he had to double binding vow to get off in the first place? Why does Sukuna NEED to have so much cursed energy at his disposal this late in the fight after Yuji, who weakens his output just by touching him, has literally been wailing on him as much as he has? Why does Yuji, who is currently literally tearing through Sukuna's chest, NEED to even give Sukuna the chance to make the hand sign for the domain in the first place? Why does this fight NEED to go on any longer than it already has and tag the main protagonist out of it at the peak of his momentum AGAIN? This stuff is what I think Nick is getting at that a lot of people in the comments are missing.

Sukuna isn't holding back anymore for quite a few chapters. That statement uraume did was before he showed his strongest technique. The problem the protagonists have right now is that most of them are exausted from trying to weaken sukuna. So they don't have enough energy or time to put themselves back together to fight against sukuna or his domain. Yuta basically died helping to defeat sukuna, but he's also willing to become a "monster" and sacrifice his morals before passing away because he's doing what must be done following the example of his teacher. All of this is coherent with the story and with the narrative and themes being presented more than 100 chapters before this fight

I think it works thematically and character wise. Sacrificing humanity for power is a running theme in the series and Yuta’s actions make sense when you realize that, it also matches his self sacrificial anything for my friends attitude. He can’t win like this. It’s perfect for Yuji to swoop in, not having compromised his humanity, to win and defying jujutsu and by extension, sukuna. Who only came to respect Yuta after he denied his humanity.

I get that you're mad at Sukuna being able to chop Yuta, but let's remember that that slash at "normal (?)" output chops BETWEEN space. That’s how it was able to bypass Gojo's Infinity in the first place. Even if we were to say the technique is at 1% power, 1% of splitting space is a STUPID amount of power. I can't feel divisive about a manga that, at this point, I read out of cost-sunk fallacy, rather than real enjoyment. Ever since the culling game started I feel like this series forgot what it was about and decided to become something else that I personally don't enjoy. From the essentially write-off of the three character we knew the longest, the disappearance of newly introduced and interesting characters, to the introduction of far too many characters, and the absolutely reality shift abilities that started to pop-out like jack in the box, I feel that anything that happen in this series lost its impact, surprise, and stake. Gojo dies? Oh well. He's back? Oh well. So and so do this? Cool. That didn't work either? Well, it's not like it worked the past 25 times. And none of this is made better by the fact that every chapter is couples with pages worth of info dumping, over explanation and flashbacks that serve nothing other than disrupt the pace and make for bad story telling. It stops suspension of belief, has negligable set up, and honestly, feel like created on a whim.

For me, the confusion part comes from the last like 5 or so chapters because I REALLY thought that the end was near and Yuji was about to defeat Sukuna, between the consecutive black flashes, surviving the domain AND Fuga, Choso’s death and Todo’s arrival it I thought it was building up towards a climax. Also maybe I’m just misunderstanding but it made it seem like Sukuna couldn’t us CT after his domain due to all the damage he took. So you can imagine my surprise when he was about to open another domain expansion. One thing about Gege that I always say is that he’s the most unpredictable mangaka at the moment, for better or worse.

Then the last one a few chapters ago he had to make binding vows in able to use which is hella clumsy but sure, and then it was stated AGAIN he couldn't do it anymore and now he is doing it and presumably will do more than once just like he did when he originally fought Gojo. People are saying "well, you're complaining that the strong character is strong lol" but that's not the point. I like this personally. It wraps up gojo and yuta in one go; bringing them to a close. They needed to take us off the copium, and yuta needed to do a little more before fully being out of the fight. I think it'll further place binding vows on sukuna, which will limit his options when we return to yuji and todo doing the jump kaisen special.

I LOVED the chapter. I 1000% understand why it’s so divisive though. Gojo is a top favorite character but Yuta is my second favorite behind Maki. Half of me has been holding onto their return, but the other half of me has been hoping they stayed dead (context, there have been 1 or 2 mentions that Sukuna’s world cutter would kill anyone hit by it so I have accepted that at face value and therefore Yuta should be dead). The reason why I wanted them to stay dead is because I felt like bringing them back would completely ruin their sacrifice and death by making their deaths effectively unimportant (very similar to Dragon Ball once people could be wished back to life multiple times). I personally feel like Yuta taking over Gojo’s body 1) completely makes sense given the abilities that have been set up by Kenjaku and Yuta 2) is the most logical thing to do - put your second strongest sorcerer in your first strongest sorcerer’s body because literally no one can defeat Sukuna otherwise 3) *most importantly* it gives us more Gojo (well, physically at least) and more Yuta without compromising the integrity of the story or diminishing their death/near death I 100% understand why some people feel the exact opposite though, but I’d give this chapter a 100/10. Perfection

I wanted Gojo back, but I wanted him to be a shadow of his former self in power wise. I felt that Gojo coming back with his Six Eyes and Limitless would mess around with the power dynamic of the entire series. Like the entire time Gojo was depicted as an equal to Sukuna, but let me get into what Yojo has that’s ruins this. So Yuta copied Kenjaku’s CT which allows him to do everything Kenjaku could with his CT. Issue here is Kenjaku’s CT ALLOWS HIM TO TRANSFER EVERY CT INTO THE NEXT BODY. So this means Yojo has: Sky Manipulation Clairvoyance Shrine Anti Gravity Jacob’s Ladder Cursed Speech Rika more CE Gojo’s CE Efficiency Six Eyes Limitless. Meanwhile Sukuna has one hand and one mouth, no RCT, a DE that he can’t maintain even without being hit (so if he gets hit decently hard it’d definitely shatter), and a lower level of CE than he had against Gojo. Seriously by all means Meguna should be able to defeat this current Sukuna, but like Sukuna is fighting (by all means) a stronger Gojo. This creates a huge problem because as I mentioned Sukuna can barely maintain his DE when nobody is hitting him. Meanwhile Gojo was able to hit Sukuna so hard that MS crumbled. However, Sukuna now would have an incredibly fragile DE, and he should be getting jumped by Yojo and Rika. Not to mention Yojo should be able to use Cursed Speech to freeze him in place allowing for any big attack to hit. Also Yojo has Jacob Ladder which as described extinguishes Special Grade Cursed Objects. Now we know this doesn’t eliminate Sukuna, but it’d be an insanely huge hit for Sukuna to take. Once Sukuna’s DE crumbles then Sukuna gets hit by Unlimited Void and just what does he do to escape that.

20:00 btw it was stated that the world cutting slash is a dismantle so the cursed energy amounted by it is not what is letal about it, the reason you cant block it is essentially that it does not depend on the enemy's cursed energy ot cursed technique or sukunas cursed energy. Since he is using a dismantle to cut all that is between sukuna and the end of the universe you can not block it, the thing is he has to at least has 2 hands of different sides of the body, say the full incantation and after the binding vow that kill gojo, do a sign of the way it will be shoot. Sukunas technique is related to cooking, to filleting and burning, so to cut the world is only to bring the "fish" and chop only the section between the head and the rest of the body being that is just a singular dismantle cut, while by cutting animate objects sukuna hace to use cleave which depends on the difference of cursed energy. In summary sukuna is using the energy of a single cut to cut everything thats why it is needed a full incantation like when gojo has to use purple, he is aiming at the universe. Thats why cleave needs multiple little cuts and thats why gojo survived malevolent shrine, by cutting so little so thin he is able to rct faster than being cut.

With how gojo died off screen due to world slash binding vow didn’t sit right with me due to the fact nothing was really explained at that time, now I expected Gojo to die or be incapacitated in some way to where he couldnt fight against sukuna anymore which would have prompted everyone else to come in. But now that it was explained due to a bindidng vow sukuna made with really no repercussion makes gojos death seem underwhelming, i dont have a problem with sukuna using a binding vow to have to beat gojo but there should be some serious repercussion to be able to pull off a technique like that given the circumstances sukuna was in against gojo. 2. The binding vows sukuna is making is being used as a plot device to get out of dire situations. I think gege doesnt know how strong he should make sukuna or doesnt know how to write sukunas power scaling in the story because at one point in time it was stated sukuna wasnt going "serious" against the students but hes being weakened by yujis attacks but also has fuga that he hasnt been using for some reason but also being pushed so hard to have to use binding vows. This flip flop of power just doesnt make since from a visual and narrative standpoint. 3. MY BIGGEST COMPLAINT SO FAR IS TODO SHOWING UP NOW. Youre telling me you have such a massive support technique if used at the start of the jump session could have changed this whole massacre around but instead is written in the story after eveyone is already taken out of the fight because of reasons that dont really make since. Him saving boogie woogie until sukuna uses his domain expansion is not good battle strategy because we all know that sukuna has basically killed off or incapacitated everyone outside of like 2 people. Also, the whole of Sukuna's fight narratively doesn't make sense. The least bad way this fight could've ended was Gojo and Sukuna killing each other, which narratively would be great because you get rid at once of two narrative problems (because Gods are great but they also trivialize the whole story), and that could've fed into the Geto/Barrier plot in a clever way. Instad we have super sayajin Sukuna who apparently gets stronger the more he gets beaten up, now fighting yet again with Gojo.

This is the best big channel breakdown of how most of us feel about Gege's insane stupid writing. I said this in other posts too. Gege is going against his own story to bring Gojo back like this. This to me is just a way to kill of Yuta and Gojo on screen. After being ridiculed (rightfully so for Gojo's off screen death) everything was setup for a great return for Gojo and its messed up. I agree inserting Yuta/Gojo here in the fight at the moment Yuji and Todo are winning seems very stupid. A better thing to do would have that be an illusion and its Yuji saying Domain expansion, that would have been more hype or even Todo saying that. Gege seems to write himself into this stupid situations by almost saving Sukuna with ass pull after ass pull. I lost interest in this after the treatment of Gojo but followed just incase Gege woke up and brought back Gojo properly. He didn't. He completely messed this up and I for one am done with JJK. Regardless of what happens next I am pretty sick of JJK's direction and writing. I have seen so many fans and channels write better stories than this for the end of JJK. If Yuta does have all his abilities and all of Gojo's then how in the hell does Sukuna survive all that without an ass pull of some kind? The ass pull is the time limit. The 5 mins, Sukuna will get destroyed again but will somehow survive and Yuta and Gojo are 100% properly dead and we go back to Yuji and Todo, and it wouldn't suprise me if Todo gets killed off in this exchange between Yuta/Gojo and Sukuna, because Gege likes to screw over the fans this way. The purpose of this battle has become lost. We know that Sukuna just wants problems and to fight the merged Tengen spirit, and we know that Yuji wants to save his friends, save Megumi, and die in service of others while surrounded by allies. But what we have NOW is Sukuna continuously clinging on to plot armour like that torn gucci bag meme, and Yuji never having the stage to shine or accomplish anything for more than a single chapter... Yuta is back but in another fan favourite characters body so now both fandoms have no idea what to feel. Todo is once again being quietly side-lined even though he has been HUGE for Yuji as a character. Maki and other side characters are being laid to waste to extend a battle where neither side seems to be getting closer to what they want... Just...confusing and tedious.

Okay so in the fight previously when Gojo was alive and he was fighting Sukuna, Sukuna was not 20 fingers yet whereas he's 19 fingers now so he's pretty much full power for the most part and even then he was holding back at 15 fingers and still won against Gojo going 100% and using his true power against someone who was holding back and not using his true power in that body whatsoever. Now Sukuna in his Heian era full power form is still holding back in the current chapters and still hasn't used his true power and him holding back in this full power form is a lot stronger than when he was using the ten shadows despite the ten shadows having all the hacks that he needed. As far as raw power this full power form is definitely physically stronger faster in all sorts. And unless Gojo gets another ability, like when he was resurrected the first time around and used RCT on himself the first time, and that was the creation of Hollow Purple, unless he gets something like that and does Hollow White or whatever ability he ends up getting, if he ends up getting another ability, I don't think if he were to use his true power again, it would do much against full power Sukuna. Unless the absence of the Ten Shadows is a significant disadvantage for Sukuna, then I could see Gojo maybe winning because of that, because he has infinity. I'm intrigued by the fact that Gojo is back because I want to see what the writers have in store for us but at the same time I just don't think he's gonna come out on top against Sukuna again. I think that it's pretty much going to be false hope for people who are fanboys of Gojo and they're just going to get their hearts ripped out again and complain and I think Sukuna is still probably going to hold back because he's a lot stronger than what he was before and he's still holding back unless he's so worn out he needs to use his true power against Gojo if he's going to win. So what ever attack sukuna does after a full chant is essentially at its full output regardless of Sukuna's condition. Which is why it bisected Yuta. So, recently I've been approaching reading and comprehending stories from a much more thematic angle, trying to dig deep into and truly understand the themes that the authors is exploring. And I feel like Gege is more interested in exploring the themes he's set up than the overall narrative. And going at it from that pov, this whole thing is actually something I really love. Because thematically, I've always felt Yuta was in this in between area between Gojo's and Yuki's philosophies, not having chosen a path. Because his power comes from his humanity, it's literally built on his love for Rika, and his experiences with other people. So that would lend well to Yuki's philosophy of refusing to give up her humanity, refusing to become a "god" or "monster" as Gojo tried to do, and Sukuna did. On the other hand, Yuta is a character of sacrifice as well. One who saw no problem dying to save others from Rika. One who was content to sacrifice his life to beat Geto, and after was willing to sacrifice the last bit of his friend he had just to give her rest. So that sacrificial part of his personality winning out, and forcing him to sacrifice his humanity, to do something in line with Sukuna's ideology, to become a monster by throwing everything aside, is a really interesting move on Gege's part. Because for me, it just confirms that Yuta won't kill Sukuna, cause thematically, it would simply prove Sukuna right. That the only way to reach the pinnacle as a Jujutsu Sorceror is by becoming a monster. Which is the exact opposite of what we've seen Yuji do. He has continually embraced his humanity. His relationship with Choso is why he's fighting, his relationship with Todo is why he's continuing to fight despite the grief of losing Choso, he isn't fighting to kill Sukuna but to save Megumi. He is the antithesis of everything Sukuna embodies, and that's why I'm still positive that Yuji is going to be the killer of Sukuna. So I almost wholeheartedly love what Gege did here, not only cause is it really cool, not only does it track with the characters, but it also shines an interesting light on the thematic conflict more than the physical. And I think a lot of people have been ignoring the themes behind the series, and focusing really hard on the narrative and story cohesion when I don't really think that was ever the point. Gege has always cared more about the ideological battles beneath the physical, and pushing forward a thematic battle more than anything else.
