Limitless is really strong but without the six eye's it's not actually that op, multiple characters talk about this, but the weakness of Limitless is supposed to be two things: 1. massive cursed energy requirements 2. the slow down isn't normally automatic. Gojo uses his six eyes to completely remove these weaknesses, he also uses reverse techniques to heal the damage done to his brain from using the limitless constantly and at this level, also something that only some one with the six eyes could hope to achieve. So yeah, for anyone wondering why the Gojo clan isn't the top dog all the time, that's why, he's the outlier (which is kinda the point to be fair)

BTW you're correct about everything in here but I just want to point out that it's not the limitless itself that creates stress to the brain, but it's the constant use of the six eyes to activate the full potential of the limitless, this is also why he tends to have glasses or blindfolds that are fully black to not stress himself on seeing too much informations on anything he sees in the world. It is even said in the fan book that even the rct he does can't fully remove the stress the six eyes does, it may heal his brain but his "mental capacity and health" doesn't

As someone studying mathematicians, I love his powers! It's basically the power of calculus. In general, his technique is said by Gojo to be the convergence of a series. In math, an infinite series converges when it approaches a specific value. It divergences if it goes to infinity. In addition, a series can not converge and diverge at the same time. In the case of blue, it places series on space and has it converge to a point giving the effect of magnetism For the barrier, he places a series on the location of the objects coming to him, forcing it to converge just before they reach him. Giving the effect of a barrier For red, it makes a divergent series by applying that to space it forces objects away. For purple, it makes a series that both converges and diverges. This is a contradiction that allows him to do the impossible in the case, deleting matter altogether.

Omg, yes, I found someone who talks about it! In episode 3 or 4 of season 2 of anime he even calls purple an illusion mass, and that was the thing what tipped me off and opened my eyes on how everything he does with this technique is related to maths and physics. And the way he explained his barrier? That reminded me of something but I couldn't remember but now I do - that's basically 1/x function. And the colours he uses for red and blue techniques? Red for pushing and blue for pulling. Red one is red because it has red shift while blue is blue shift accordingly. At least, this is how I interpreted this, but I'm not a calculus student like you and not a physics major either so I may have gotten something wrong. I was just excited about how his powers use physics and maths, after all, it's shounen manga I didn't expect such detail.

Gojo can use the neutral infinity to float, let's say that he jumps off of a building, he won't fall as he could use the neutral infinity to slow him self down infinitely essentially making him suspended in the air aka floating, but for teleportation he does probably use blue like you said.

I think the limitless combined with the six eyes are literally the strongest abilities someone can have in JJK. There are a lot of crazy and troublesome cursed techniques out there, but nothing we’ve seen so far comes close to this.. Which is why I think Gojo Satoru can’t be surpassed like he always says.

I think its because the limitless is something specifically centered around himself. The reason he can't do anything like you said is because the base ability allows him to protect himself. If we use the number line analogy, gojo is at zero. His infinity lets him make an uncountable infinity of space around himself by making it so his opponent cannot reach zero, not around others. The symbolism behind this techniques is that it makes Gojo unreachable, which is super fitting for him given he is the strongest. If he could do something like that, the enemy would already know about it considering the Limitless is an inherited technique in the Gojo clan. This makes it really hard to keep a secret aspect of a technique when every curse user understands how the technique works. Basically what I am saying is if this was something a different Limitless user could do, the enemy would have already known that it is a possibility. Finally, I do not think that Gojo is a good person by nature. A jujutsu sorcerer is supposed to be selfish and a bit crazy. Thats how you advance in skill. I don't think he would think to try and use it on other people.

Also, with the curses using Domain Amplification, it would not have mattered too much since Domain Amplification allows the user to be unaffected by cursed techniques

I interpreted blue as him creating an anomaly in space by amplifying negative numbers using cursed energy resulting in the the surrounding space collapsing into a point like a pseudo - blackhole, while red was Gojo converging a large area of space into a point causing the surrounding space to expand to accomodate the anomaly resulting in the repulse, also wasn't teleportation used repeatedly during the first sukuma fight or was it blues high speed mode and also why didn't you mention Azure glow seemed distinct enough to be mentioned as an extension of blue.

Interesting factoid, the reason Blue and Red are named so comes from an actual physical phenomenon where light shifts towards blue when something is approaching and towards red when something moves away (Lapse: Blue makes things approach to a point, Reversal: Red makes things move away from it). I don't think this is literally happening in the manga though, as people affected by Blue would only blueshift if seen from the point where Gojo creates the negative space and people affected by Red would only redshift from Gojo's perspective (and their own, of course). Also it would be ridiculous to think Gojo can accelerate something to almost lightspeed considering the fact that Toji tanked Red and just got a couple broken bones.

I conceptualize limitlessness as something similar to folding a piece of paper infinitely. There’s a certain point where you can’t fold anymore. He goes past this point and this is where you get the limitlessness from. He is essentially folding the paper (space) so many times that it creates an infinite amount of space between himself and the opponent. His techniques all branch off the the manipulation of space. Blue is just hyper-reduction of space to a point it basically creates a black hole. This is like folding the paper to such a small point that it is no longer a point, but there’s also infinite folds within the paper. This is because you essentially have infinite space within no space itself (an anomaly, like dividing infinity by 0). Red is the hyper-expansion of space, generating an insane amount of power. Purple is doing both simultaneously, completely destroying anything within that space. Levitation is likely expanding space under him to create an infinity between him and the ground, effectively negating gravity. Teleportation is basically him subtracting the space between his current position and an alternate position.

I don't think that quite works. that feels like saying the only reason zeno's paradox doesn't work is because space isn't infinitely divisible due to the plank length. However, even if space was infinitely divisible, motion would still be possible.

Yeah, the six eyes is a Gojo clan only technique. It's basically what is holding the clan together, since the limitless technique kind of sucks without six eyes. I mean... Use infinity for too long, your brain is fried. Blue? Sure, you can use that. Red? You need RCTs and it expends twice as much as blue. Purple? It's probably obvious that it's way too difficult and energy taxing to use. And we don't know a lot about teleportation. But yeah, six eyes are basically what makes the Gojo clan what it really is.

It would seem Gege has favored the Goujo clan by giving them a cursed technique called "limitless". If cursed techniques are symbolic of their clans and users, Satoru is the only one in the series who has no limits. I think blue works as how goju explained it...he creates negative distance into reality, for example an object is 10 meters from him, he can make that distance into -10 hence that object will be pulled to him, similarly he can do it to himself. So he can go to that object instead. Blue can be an aoe spell so it can attract object to it as well. So reversal red is the reverse of that, it can manifest an imaginary space increasing that distance hence the repelling force. Purple is simply a black hole.

So in short: Neutral - Space is being divided by an infinite number into infinite pieces, making it impossible to reach Satoru as the attack can't traverse an infinite distance of space. Blue - Space is being put into negative, effectively creating a vacuum that sucks things towards the vacuum point to even it out. Red - Space is expanded, creating a pushing force just like blue does with a vacuum Purple - blue and red are being combined, ripping space apart by basically pulling at one end with blue and pushing the other with red, creating deficite in space that can self-regulate itself anymore and has to replace the void with an infinite amount of mass, allowing it to tear through absolutely everything, leaving nothing behind. the infinity being created is an asymptote. things can approach the asymptote but never reach it as their value approaches infinity. the value in gojo's case is velocity, so it would take infinite velocity to touch him. real objects cannot have this, but its possible something based off of the use of imaginary numbers could, or maybe a massless particle like photons. either gojo can become a black body by also blocking light or a gamma ray laser would affect him. 🤔

ive watched a concerning amount of these videos and truthfully, the only thing that has successfully explained limitless was my study guide for the calculus bc exam a few months ago. limitless is, in the crudest way of putting it, the shonen version of the fundamental theorem of calculus and its application to physics. infinity as a technique already exists in reality; as gojo says to yuji during his first fight against jogo, he says this as well. nothing in existence can actually touch, there will always be an infinitely small space between each atom, and infinity is simply a more visible version of that. in calculus, an infinite series is convergent when it approaches a value, and it is divergent when it approaches infinity. therefore, blue is the series as it approaches a point, creating something like a magnet. red is the series as it approaches infinity, repelling objects. purple is the combination of the two, which is impossible, therefore deleting matter altogether. he basically hit backspace on toji. this is less scientific and more like my own perspective on it, but his domain expansion reminds me of the concept of infinity. to most people, it means everything everywhere anytime, but in math, infinity means both infinitely large and infinitely small. 1 times a huge number is infinitely large, 1 divided by a huge number is infinitely small. infinite voice exposes someone to an infinitely large amount of information, and limits their abilities to an infinitely small amount. super interesting how much gojo relates to physics. also yes, i did use gojo to study for my exam

In crossverse battle's satoru limitless isn't OP like everyone thinks. Satoru stated he detects danger of an attack with the amount of curse energy it has. Later he started to detect them via their shape , mass and speed. And he can even detects incoming attacks by reading the flow of curse energy (Even akutami sensei mentioned satoru reads the flow of curse energy to detect things) Now anything his six eyes can't detect is something he can't stop. Came to this video cuz I saw on Instagram another creator did a “Naruto vs Gojo) and named these abilities and was like “Naruto is done” (peak Naruto btw I’m assuming cuz the pic he used for Naruto had kurama). And the main thing he based it on was purple. He said if Naruto gets with purple he’s over. While that may be true, that’s a big “IF”…if it hits Naruto. Seeing it action….thats not coming close to Naruto🫤🤣 Naruto is planetary and light speed, konohamaru’s even dodging purple🤣. And that barrier Gojo uses could be countered by Naruto. Naruto has abilities that don’t rely on physical touch, and uses a sacred and amplified chakra to perform that not everyone knows and has. His sage mode. Naruto’s sage mode grants him the ability to throw a punch, that punch will stop in gojo’s face and that’s perfect, the sage mode attack will go from there. In sage mode Naruto pretty much has an extra limb in the spirit world that doesn’t require his touch and that barrier is ironically a perfect set up for it. Plus we saw in Naruto that if you’re fast enough, that alone can and will break space time itself and break, bend, twist, and shatter your ability and peak naruto can definitely reach those speed cuz gai was able to. So no matter what gojo does wit space time around him, Naruto can counter and bend it an instant just by moving, so that almighty push and universal pull gojo essentially has….would have no affect on PEAK Naruto. Let’s not forget six paths sage mode and six paths senjutsu now. Them truth seeking orbs obliterate anything that isn’t six paths chakra….not looking good for Gojo and that’s not even everything, six paths senjutsu/spsm is a package deal but I said enough on that. Lets not forget baryon mode, going on offense and/or defense against baryon mode will kill Gojo, his best choice is to disengage than to engage at that point

Why would reversal red scale above blue? It's clearly stated that it takes a lot of cursed energy to make reversed cursed energy which would be why it would take him 2x times cursed energy for a technique that's seems to have the same output. I would think it would be -1 x -1 =1 This tracks with both two times the cost and that more cursed energy goes in than reversed cursed energy comes out.

Reversal red seems to do more large scale damage and has a Higher output of raw power, unlike blue which is more focused and localised but has durability ignoring abilities and has more potency, overall red showcases a higher power output

If he were to win he would have to catch it in a domain and use hollow purple immediately to completely erase the cursed spirit. This is theoretical it's just what I think needs to happen for gojo to win. If gojo cannot kill the cursed spirit with domain first try he would lose.

Nope, it isn't. Unless you have the six eyes, that is. If it were too op, Gojo wouldn't be that different from other clan members. It's definitely a solid cursed technique but it's only overpowered when paired with the six eyes (which is a really rare thing to happen).

People try to make sense of the ability, but anybody with a math background knows it's incoherent... There's a similar concept to this, and it's that a car should never run out of gas, because before it can run out of gas, the gas must be halved over and over again. Well, every time the gas is halved, you have half the power left to propel yourself.. You don't create distance by dividing it, in the same way you can't create energy by dividing the gas. This is poorly written fiction imo. It's like they're regurgitating known paradoxes, but just labeling it a special power. You might as well just say his power is to expand the space between his enemies an himself arbitrarily. Although that would look clunky, because then it wouldn't look like they're stopping instead of making contact, there would be a literal gap created between the two players. Both people would have to warp around the created space...

Hi! Mathematician here. I watched this anime and fell in love at how he used mathematics (the fabric of the normative structure of reality) as a superpower. So, infinite (his passive ability) works really easy. He takes the distance between him and his opponent and divides it by an infinite series over time. So as time goes on, the distance is getting shorter, but it’s being divided by 1,2,3,4,5,6… The equation turns out to be X (the space between them) times a diverging harmonic series (N or a series that repeats to infinity) all over T time to equal how fast they are. X/T is how fast the usually are. X/(TN) is how fast they are going with infinite occurring. Anything finite over infinity equals 0 so they’re not going anywhere. If you kept up with that, everything else is easier. Blue is a position being inflated by infinity. The byproduct is a vortex or vacuum of space where matter gets sucked in. It basically has the effect of a black hole by stretching a minuscule part of space into a large hole (but scientifically, it’s not an actual black hole. This is fiction.) Red works by doing the opposite. Instead of expanding a point in space, it shrinks it. Once this shrunken space is released, the recoil is astronomically large and is similar to an explosion. Hollow just disintegrates stuff. It takes matter and turns it into pure energy. Teleportation uses blue to suck him in and then expel him to another suitable point in space. Pretty sure red can do something similar but the opposite way. Maybe crush things or materialize objects.

Naoya/naobito can split 1 second into 24 frames. Using their point of view, they strategically set this “frames” as a single movement beforehand, failure to do the prediterment movement will cause the user to freeze in a frame for 1 second. If naoya/naobito touch another person/thing with the palm of their hand whilst activating the technique (ie: touching maki in the 18th frame of the prediterment movement) the touched person will have to move greater than or just the speed 1/24 second, failure to do so will cause them to freeze. Hopes this’ll do for now.
