Bardock wasn't in the otherworld because Xenoverse 1 and 2 explains that Bardock Got teleported by Mira And Towa manipulated and used him for their plan to revive the demon realm. And once Bardock defeated Mira in the crystal realm he was sent back in time and he fought Chilled (Frieza's ancestor) And Chilled warned the world about the Legendary Super Saiyan (who was Bardock) Now Bardock is Trapped in the past until Fu showed up.
