Sure he did got billions of times stronger after that, but the way he fought in this tournament was unmatched for me. His technics were prime. Even things like Kamehameha from his feet, his combos and many other things. I think this version of him is very underrated. After that everything become about Powerlevel & Transformations and he did regress in many martial artist areas as Master Roshi Mentions it in the tournament of Power (only Mangaversion).

Goku was a genius in every fightting related stuff in DBZ/DB he knew how to properly train,move,fight,use KI and much more DBS goku feels like the stupid guy with the right connections and not him being the smart guy with good conections he always was,the super manga (who is better than the anime) making him so bad master roshi had to teach him something he learned and kept up until start of Z shows how Akira toryama forgot how goku works, he even sacrificed goku to make vegeta look better in the broly arc manga/movie with the meditation scene.

What Kakarot gets right that the others don't is the importance of the impact on that gut punch. They just need to linger on it a bit more to sell it. Otherwise, it just gets lost in the rest of the attack. Its the most impactful hit in the whole combo it needs to feel like it.
