Not really. So long as you obtain the first Super Saiyan form and become a Great Ape then transform into a SSJ you can become a SSJ4. 2 and 3 are not required. Remember, it has the name Super Saiyan 4 but there's evidence to suggest it's an entirely different branch of power since it's not obtained in the usual manner like SSJ2 and SSJ3.

This song makes me think of when Goku was in GT. He was beat up by baby, and he's looking at earth, remembering all the good times with friends and family. And he doesn't want to lose the love, or any of them. So he feels the strength rising, and a he becomes an Oozaru, he has like a deep inner reflection of everything he is, and what he wants, and he finally tames the power and becomes complete again.

DBGT is better than super, unlike Super GT doesn't try to retcon fundamental things and it adds to What was already part of Dragon ball like the tail being required to keep Kid Goku's power easier to manage, GT did so much better than Super and still it gets considered as terrible and considered non-canon despite Toriyama's association with character designs, superior animation and an overall amazing story and it didn't depend on Super saiyan transformations and it only introduced 1 transformation SSJ4 (SSJ Great ape was seen in a flashback in DBZ), and it only used super saiyan way into the show show Goku has become so much more powerful, and Pan never goes super saiyan to show that Quarter Saiyan Children are very powerful something Dragon Ball Super also remembers, to say the least GT does less wrong than super

"SSJ4 to say how badass it looks, the theme is so peaceful as if goku had reached the pinnacle of what saiyans could be and that he could finally put down the life of constantly fighting for protection as he knew he could beat anyone who opposed him . That's the beauty of it. The juxtaposition of the serious looks and intimidating stare with the calm and collected music say it is more powerful than just showing it. But thats the theme isn't it? It's meant to be beautiful. Goku had always fought on the side of life, even when it came to the most ruthless bastards in the universe, he offered to spare Frieza, responsible for destroying his home planet and almost all of his race even after killing his best friend from childhood. That's the kind of person goku is and the theme just says that without having to have a single lyric. Not only that but the fact that it stems from the Oozaru form, the most uncontrollable form a saiyan has for this to have such calm music over it is something you can't quite describe. All of the untapped power he finally harnessed and used it to be the best he could be. DBGT was poorly written yes however you can't deny that behind all that there are some genuine good moments that feel like Z. Nothing will beat Z in my opinion, super doesn't come close but GT is somewhere grounded near it. The fact that it wasn't about being close to gods. It was grounded in reality where he would have to push his body and mind to the limit to even have a shot at beating someone as powerful as baby vegeta or even omega shenron It was a time where Super Saiyan meant something. Not a stepping stone to somewhere that can't be quantified. GT did the "God" transformation perfectly, where for the first time it wasn't "He'll just scream and get a new power" it was the fact he had to delve back into his roots and embrace his saiyan heritage and his upbringing on earth to access this. Something that super saiyan was never about, it was something fresh, going from oozaru to super oozaru and then finally super saiyan 4." -A friend.

This is the best transformation moment, with SSJ1 is really epic, you can feel Goku´s anger towards Frieza, SSJ Transformation was really underwhelming for Goku (But great for Gohan), SSJ3 was also pretty great, all that buildup was borderline funny but the payoff was nice. But with SSJ4 you get a very introspective moment, Goku´s now has to control and channel his anger to return from Oozaru form, then, he slowly walks, looks at himself, the mirror breaks, almost as if Goku didn´t recognize himself, but you can feel he´s confident and mature, I say that despite being a kid in most of GT, you can truly feel he matured and changed for good, while in Super he´s even more immature than before in some moments.

Agree! I would excuse Ssj2, since it wasn’t really meant as a new transformation when it was introduced. It was just Gohan’s latent power - that he had always had - mixed with his Super Saiyan form. Which means, by definition, it was a form only Gohan could reach, and he’s the only one for whom it really means something. For the other Saiyans, it’s just Ssj with some lightning on it.

It's crazy how different a melody can sound so different depending upon the arrangement. The opening is uplifting and joyous whereas this is calm and somber with a hint of sadness.

dat effort to disprove on GT eventhought is not really that shitty lol ... betting half my new house Super will end with Beerus back into slumber and Whiss limited to watch again, returning to the end of Z and obviously opening GT again, granted if anything i would love a retckon on the series the same way Z with Kai did

my point was that Super still doesn't have a conflict against the end of Z as far as the history is going, hence much less on GT. Super occurs between Boo and Pan having 6'ish years old at the end of Z in the tournament. Unless they keep Kibito and Kaioshin defused until the end, only then i'm gonna recognize GT as an - alternate universe XD -
