Fun fact, Kaio Ken needs the user to be calm, A regular super saiyan is fueled mainly by anger or high emotions, so it was never practical to combine them. Blue on the other hand does require to be calm, so it is perfect to stack it with Kaio Ken

The power system in DBZ seems vague and arbitrary, and in a sense it is, but it makes waaaaaay more sense when you remember that Akira Toriyama is buddhist and there's a ton of buddhist philosophy and metaphysics in the story. Super Saiyan Blue and Divine Energy in general is literally becoming "one" with ki instead of viewing one's self as a meat bag full of ki.

Nah nah hit didn't throw the fight, Monaka is just that strong, if you zoom in on that scene you can even see that Hit attempted to use time skip but Monaka was just that fast and strong that he punched through it and destroyed every single one of Hit's internal organs with one punch to the leg. And this was Monaka holding back of course

Monaka actually does something else even more impressive: He was able to read the minds of the fighters around him to find the great Mr Satan's delayed reaction Megaton Punch in their memories and uses it against hit to catch him off guard. That's why Hit just stands there at first.

Didn't Goku give Cell a senzu bean after his fight so that he would be at full strength when fighting Gohan? Gohan did not have the privilege of fighting an exhausted opponent, and strategy played no part in his fight with Cell because of the power difference between the two. The only thing that had to happen to end it was Gohan getting angry.

@Oblivion'sLegend Goku went first to show Gohan all of Cells tricks,how he fights and to show Gohan Cells upper limits,the senzu bean is a mix of Goku's saiyan instinct and him wanting Gohan to beat Cell at full power so that Gohan can prove to himself and everyone else how strong he is,Goku did think that whole situation through,his only mistake was not understanding that Gohan did not like fighting

​@@c-jay2042 i think what pain vile gaming is trying to say is that going second was not the reason goku did well against hit(although it did help him), it was because of his kaioken that he did well against hit. Even if goku went first against hit and and didnt know what was hit's technique, goku would still had used kaioken as his last resort. And as we see, the speed goku gets from kaioken allowed him to move even in time skip, so he would still had figured out that hit was using a time skip. What we forget is that although goku is a very stupid and childish person in general, but he is a very well trained and self-made martial martist through hard work. That's the reason why goku stays one step ahead of vegeta even though vegeta(who is a prodigy) has more natural power.

Fun fact: The flashback when Goku used the Kaio-ken against Vegeta is from the Dragon Ball Z episode "Saiyan Sized Secret" but they use the dialogue from DBZ Kai. Hit initally attempts to fight against Goku without using his Time Skip abilities. In the manga, he does not. In the anime, Hit pretends to power up though his strength is said to have not increased. Instead it extends the time in which he can skip time. In the manga, Hit actually does power up and it is explained that the Time Skip only works on those that are either on par or weaker than Hit himself. Goku uses Super Saiyan and Super Saiyan God in the manga before using Super Saiyan Blue where he ends the fight with a Kamehameha. In the anime, Goku uses Super Saiyan Blue before using the Kaio-ken where he then performs the Kamehameha.

But that only happens against Jiren and never before that.

So a bit of a big translation error when elder Kai says Goku didn't use Kaioken due to it putting too much strain on his body he didn't use Kaioken with the Super Saiyan forms because those transformations called for him to be at least somewhat emotional and wild and the energy was actually in a somewhat wild state as well and even minor issues like that would cause Kaioken to backfire and destroy his body instantly
