I've noticed a difference between people who are enjoying this and those who are wanting high action in that the high action folks are missing that this is more classic Dragon Ball style, fun adventure and fighting/action secondary. I didn't think I'd be enjoying this anywhere near as much as I am, but it just feel so 'very' Toriyama with the relaxed nature and humour in it. Goku grabbing a burger mid-fight lmao

Glorio is probably the most chill dude Goku ever hang out with, so many was already pissed with Goku 5 minutes after knowing him. Glorio seems tolerant of it all so far. I mean your on a mission to save someone and dethrone the King and the guy who you count on farts in your ship. I'm already interested with his character.

7:54 More or less, yeah. I’ve been studying Japanese for a while now and I think I can explain the term in a bit more detail, if you don’t mind me rambling a bit. (Massive over-explanation incoming.) “Daima” is a made-up word that uses two kanji: 大 (dai), meaning “big” or “great”, and 魔 (ma), which is a kanji that can have a few different meanings but generally refers to things which are both supernatural and evil; common translations include “witch”, “demon”, “magic”, “evil spirit”, or simply “evil”. So a literal translation of the word Daima would be “great evil”. However, the word is also clearly meant to call to mind the term 大魔王 (daimaō), only lacking the 王 (pronounced “ou”, meaning “king”) at the end. 大魔王, meaning “great demon king”, refers to a villain who rules over a kingdom or army of evil spirits or demons, although this is not always literal and is a very common title for the “big bad” in a lot of Japanese media. (If you’ve ever played the Zelda games, Ganondorf is another example of a character who goes by the title “daimaō”. This is where the terms “Great King of Evil Ganondorf” and “Demon King Ganondorf” come from in English-both equally valid translations). King Piccolo and Dabura are the two characters I know of in Dragon Ball who went by the title of daimaō. Additionally, they refer to the demon realm in Daima as 大魔界 (daimakai). This is basically just adding 大 to the word 魔界 (makai, a term commonly used in Japanese media for a “dark world” or “demon world”) to refer to the demon realm as a whole (as opposed to the three individual demon worlds, which are just called “makai” without the “dai” at the beginning). This, presumably, is also part of the inspiration for the name “Daima”. Tl;dr it’s a made-up word meaning “great evil” that has the additional nuance of calling similar words like “demon world” and “demon king” to mind.

I also have a Theory. What if there were once multiple Demon Worlds entrances that were once active; before the only Three Demon Worlds that are still active(Red Blue and Yellow). Notice the only Three Colored Symbols in the "relay point"(called by Glorio) surrounded by multiple silver symbols. Maybe those inactive worlds were once home to the Namekians; which in turn had a dragon ball of its own. Now only Neva and three dragon balls remain. In this third episode we also learned that all Three Worlds are connected by a Path that has been blocked by a Light Barrier. What if Paths like that existed in the other inactive worlds linking all Demon Worlds together beforehand.

Daima is a massive opportunity to retcon/give exposition why Vegeta is envious of Goku again in Super after he just went through a whole shlick of accepting where he was in his power level during Z.

Because Vegeta’s not the type to stay still forever. Admitting somebody is better does not mean you stop trying! It’s okay to admit your weakness, it’s an important thing to realise progress is not linear and somebody will always be better than you. Perhaps because of that awareness, he’s even surpassed Goku, vice versa, multiple times in super.

@@vitelspring *"Vegeta not being able to stay still forever"* doesnt mean he needs to be envious of Goku again. they need to explain all that bc in super its all been fan interpretations, head cannons like yours *trying* to make sense out of things. Repetition of tropes can be good but they needed to explain things

Dragon ball daima is so goated In 3 episodes we got great animation , well paced worldbuilding and balanced charecter progression Not to mention that since daima isn't adapting a manga. There will be far better fights and far less yapping and monologues Imagine wanting the ass-pull power up spam fest that is dragon ball super over this
