I feel that the reason Nodejs community is larger because it is a part of the overall JS community.

Yes , exactly

Yes. And there are a ton of "programmers" who pretend to know JS. Or think they know JS.

If you are doing cpu intensive work or network level operations, choose golang. Otherwise, choose nodejs. For most project nodejs is enough and better compared to golang.

I have seen a couple of videos of yours and they are awesome. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.

You will most likely end up working on the frontend as well. Frontend is js. Why context switch to Go if the performance is not necessary for typical web apps scaled on k8s. Making a react dev a full stack dev on node vs Go makes more sense. Hiring node skills onto a team is way easier. The ecosystem of node that can many times be shared on the front end, makes it enticing. Think models shared between react app and node app. Now if your team has Go skills, go ahead, but if you want to ramp a node team up to Go, maybe it’s not worth it.

You only fill half of the screen with your video, leaving some of the background black. So it's difficult to see what you're doing on your device.

Golang is really peformant because golang has lot of parallel processing and multi threading, i mean really !!

Sometimes for react frontend

I use react frontend with golang backend. If you haven’t tried it out, it’s pretty easy once you get the hang of it!

Strategically Golang is better. Tactically nodejs is better for js developers
@टिरंजननकले2 жыл бұрын
And practically java is better than both?
@renegadeace17352 жыл бұрын
I like NodeJS better because I can organize my project however I want. I don't like how everything in a folder is public to everything else in that folder in GO. Plus async/await and not having to constantly convert primitives is a plus.

Question: if golang is easy to learn, why arent companies just hiring nodejs developers and have them learn on the job for the same lower level salaries?
@AkhilSharmaTech2 жыл бұрын
Actually this is exactly what they're doing. Its easy to learn, but nodejs guys not necessarily want to move from nodejs I've tried this, doesn't work all the time, in some of the cases it works

Language may be easier to learn but to create good system/product , you need engineering/software skills. Thats where the challenge starts. Imagine company hires you as golang developer and asks you to create small search engine or docker like product. Most of the engineers who created docker/kubernetes also knew C++/Python very well
@creativecompilations2662 Жыл бұрын
Go lang has lot of gotcha. Tougher to learn than node.
