Myconian Ambassador
The broad, gold-sand swath of Platis Gialos on Mykonos’s southern coast is one of the island’s most beloved beaches. You can tell by how many luxury hangouts (Nammos Village and San Giorgio Mykonos among them) vie for space near its waters. Opened in 1992, the Relais & Chateau Myconian Ambassador hotel stakes its claim on a rocky outcrop with perfect views of the beach and the sea-and continues to be one of the area’s most sought-after stays. The whitewashed, cube-like structure hides 70 bedrooms kitted out in Thassos marble, tropical hardwood furniture, and Grecian blue-and-white color palettes brightened by abstract art. (The best have their own plunge pool facing the Aegean.) The restaurant, Efisia, is also legendary-the perfect spot to dig into locally sourced fish and meat after lazy days spent on a lounger by the oversize pool.

After a leisurely breakfast at the hotel (the egg and smoothie menus are popular), it’s time to hit the beach. Lucky for you, Platis Gialos is just a three-minute walk from the Ambassador. The sands are lined with cafés and beach clubs, and boats are available for hire for trips.

I've been vacationing in Mykonos regularly since the age of 19 and it remains our favorite summer holiday location. It has clearly become substantially more expensive over time but on the flip side it is an increasingly more sophisticated destination with top rated restaurants, nightlife, hotels, unique chic beach clubs with remarkable cafes and restaurants, bars and nightclubs. The beauty to us of Mykonos is that notwithstanding those changes it still has retained its physical beauty and charm and now attracts visitors from all over the globe.

You have such great style! I love all your clothing- what was missing from this video was the culture.... not one Greek person in the video, no one spoke Greek.... if you want to feel the soul and culture of a country, you need to mix and mingle with the people, make friends, go off the beaten path.... thats how I travel and thats what makes it exciting. Shopping and food is everywhere you go, Greeks are in Greece- where are the Greeks in this video?!

Hi Andy! We love visiting Mykonos in September and October, when the island experiences fewer crowds and lower hotel rates and the weather (and the water!) is still warm.

The least you could do is get the language right. Just in case someone is watching. The Greek word for "Good Morning" is not "Caldera". Here is the definition for "Caldera". "Caldera" is a large volcanic crater, especially one formed by a major eruption leading to the collapse of the mouth of the volcano. The Greek word for "Good Morning" is "Kalimera". It seems to me that this video is all about you, and shopping. You changed 10 outfits, at least, in 9 minutes of video. We know there is shopping, but is that all there is on the island? What about all the rest, of the culture, and what the island has to offer. I mean besides Scorpios. Do better, I could do better than that.

Yelva Berry, I agree with you. I didn't like her boobs on my face, it feels like she is selling herself than a island. It is a beautiful island no doubt. I do travel every year but this year I didn't so far because I'm warring braises my upper teeth really needed badly. But yes I agree with you, she never talk to any Greek person nor she did the tour of island, Eating and shopping. The houses called the (Sugar Cubes) stiles. Maybe I should be an tour person.???
