Exactly right why do they have ownership of a tenement and don’t work it? Guess you can just sit back to think about it, you can work out why they grab up the pending tenements around their own tenements.

1/2 a gram here, half a gram there, $30 here, $50 there! It costs more than that to stay in the caravan park per day! Not to mention your $9.5k detector! Is that what gold detecting in WA gold fields has come down too? 50 years now since the first VLF Garrets & Whites detectors came out, them all the pulse induction machines, and now prospectors are reduced to digging all the flour gold that’s been left by others? Soon you’ll have to dry blow for gold dust to get anything!
@kennethbothen5 жыл бұрын
That's right, it's very hard to find good ground. It's not like berries or mushrooms! It doesn't come back every year. Either you try further out the bush or are lucky to stumble over some nugget missed by others. The new machines help on previously detected areas. But the adventure is very cool!
@ianmoone23595 жыл бұрын
Kenneth Bothen The adventure is indeed great, but you have to be able to afford to keep doing it. It’s like fishing has become now, you need $100k+ boat to get out to deep drop off the continental shelf to get a feed & when you do, the licenses and rules say you can keep 2 fish! It’s cheaper to go to Sealanes and buy fish! If you bought gold at Perth mint gold prices, it would be cheaper per ounce than investing in 4wd, quad, camper trailer, detector, coils, fuel, food, water, fridge, generator, caravan park fees, miners right etc - to legally go and find one ounce at half a gram at a time! Even the old time prospectors knew you had to find a certain amount per tonne to be worth mining or your losing money! All your doing now is paying for an adventure where you lose money! Buy gold at the Mint with your $ rather than buy all that gear & sit back and watch it increase in value as the gold price goes up! You will lose less $ than stumbling around in the goldfields giving the flies somewhere to hitch a ride on your back! 😂😂😂
@kennethbothen5 жыл бұрын
I fully agree in that logical reasoning! But there's also the adventure and a dream I've had for years to come to oz and detect! It's a whole new continent for me! Met beautiful people in the caravan park that share the dream of a decent find! And some did! Biggest piece I saw was 88 grams! Being from Sweden, coming to oz is so much more than the gold. The nature in the bush, the beaches, the colonial heritage, the cars, the different villastyles and a country that's not ashamed of its mining industry! Love it and hopefully I will be able to come back again for both a road trip and some detecting. 🇦🇺🇸🇪🍻

hey mate, we have done a fair bit of driving in WA and detecting over the years in comfort and now we are putting our Commander up for sale, it is a great vehicle, reliable and safe, we have avoided caravan parks like a plague, we had the freedom of so many places that are hard to reach with the peace and quiet that comes with it, found some good gold and fished some amazing places. if you want to see a video on it visit KZbin and search for: 4x4 motor home SLRV Commander , you will notice the new paint job and we have made a few upgrades, if you are interested contact us and do an inspection, you will not be disappointed😁

Did you get a guide to show you where to start ? The other person at the beginning of the vid, thanks for the reply hopefully I do as well as you have . Could I get the details of the guide you went with , I am going to WA this winter and would like to improve my chances of finding a little bit .

Yes.. 2 weeks we went with permission. Other days I went for pending ground close to Leonora. When you drive out yourself you need to trust the car you use. I needed mine to take me back 700km to Geraldton and then 400km south to Perth! Luckily it got the job done! My 3rd time detecting so you learn patience. But I hate days without gold! 😅

Good video! Did you sell the nuggets you found? I'm really curious because nobody can give me info about that "100 points" System of the verified gold buyers in Australia... Can I sell it as a foreigner?
@kennethbothen4 жыл бұрын
Hi, thanks for the feedback! No i haven't sold any gold! Yet.. But i think you mean the system of proving your nationality? I guess just walk in to any goldbuyers office in the goldfields. Or make a Aussie friend close the deal for you! Good to have the gold left now when gold price is closer to 100Au$/g than 50$ when I dug it! 😉

I think you need to learn to differentiate white stone, lime stone from decayed quartz. No gold in limestone but there is in mineralised decayed quartz. Maybe if you had a drone you could drive, park, scan whole area for white quartz patches, detect, drive, scan, detect etc.

Yes. Couldn't i have found at least one little bigger piece! But that's what you can expect if you don't go further out. And then you need a more trustworthy car. Its also luck. The 11g piece in the picture was found on top of the ground. That guy was thinking it was a leaf. Thinking the detector found junk. Since I got the 7000 I was hoping for more. But you should maybe stay out in the bush saving petrol money and the travelling time. I'm a competitive person, that's why it appears that I'm a "crybaby" when the gold isn't flowing! After all I'm happy having the guts doing these trips and bringing home these beautiful nuggets and memories..

@@kennethbothen I am planning a trip for may this year, I will buy an SUV and a metal detector Sdc 2300 (this is my financial maximum), I will search the sites very carefully. I have long dreamed of doing this, I hope this year everything will work out.
@kennethbothen5 жыл бұрын
@@Serbrest1 cool! That's a very good detector. You could find a used one for ~2800-3000$ and then resell it for almost the same with the stress of having a flight home to catch. Same with the car. Took me 5 days to find my latest car! Rental/buying is the question. Oz is big and overwhelming at times, so I would suggest finding a buddy to partner up with. If you don't get along, then go separate ways.
@Serbrest15 жыл бұрын
@@kennethbothen I'll try looking for nuggets alone. If all goes well, invite my good friends, with them I know how to get along:) Sdc I want to buy a new, still unknown how the former owner used it, afraid it may break in the Bush. New from authorized dealer 2700 USD. In my country, you can't go looking for nuggets that way. Therefore, I am looking forward to the summer, I have high hopes for adventure. I want to shoot everything and show Russian-speaking users how to realize such a dream.
@kennethbothen5 жыл бұрын
@@Serbrest1 right now in oz sdc sells for 3400$aus. That's about 2400€. And remember if you buy it new you are allowed the tax refund when leaving Australia! That's worth ~10% refund! (320$) but item couldn't be older than 60days. I guess you are from Serbia? 😉
