Actually, it's all in the hunt really, whether they be the big chunks or the tiniest, it's the hunt that counts. Even when you dig up rubbish, it turns our guts as much as yours. But the weigh-in at the end of the day kinda evens it all out. But yeah, the hunt is where it's at ....... my opinion :)

Tough question without having a 7000 on the spot to make those comparisons, again this year l hit sub half grammers at good depth so didn,t feel l missed much, it would be an interesting experiment though, l think for now while the 4500 is performing well and is an extension of me l will stand by it, a new learning curve could potentially detract from my main focus which is creating reasonable content but this is food for thought and exactly the type of comment l encourage, l will keep this in mind and aim to put it to the test next season, cheers NM.

No wonder i didn't find a speck of gold on my 2 week trip over to WA at the end of August, it seems to all be in your pocket lol. To be fair of all the pending claims i camped on i hardly found any ground that looked any good. Got my miners right which i thought was $25 a year but is for life now which is good and saw a lot of WA from Norseman all the way up to Leonora. Now i need to learn what to look for besides the obvious and now you're back i'll try and learn a thing or 2 about the land before i do trip No2. Biggest shock of the trip was fuel prices along the way, as high as $1.99ltr which is insane. 2 years of detecting and 5 specks of gold from random panning............ i'm doing something wrong lol 🙃

@TheNuggetMagnet6 жыл бұрын
Gidday, dont be discouraged be determined, but l can understand your frustration, its not just fuel that breaks the bank, if you have shopped over there you will know what l mean, once you find the right areas, possibly from Geomaps, you will find the Green Stone belts that hold the gold, then its patience, persistence and perseverence mixed in with a lot of luck, main thing is the freedom and adventure so hang in there because no-one gets it all, cheers NM.

Thanks for that mate and yes food cost was also a joke especially those road house petrol stops along the Nullarbor. I think paid like $8 at Mudrabilla for a small bag of hot chips and $3.50 for a paddle pop......... I learned quickly to stock food and road snacks rather than stopping for anything but fuel and a toilet once i got to Norseman's IGA. The trip itself was unbelievable and not finding gold while being sad was not reason to call it a wasted trip. Just camping under the stars and seeing what weather was thrown at me was a reward on it's own. I pegged a tent each night, collected dead wood and dug a fire pit, had a small gas stove to boil a cuppa and heat up food and if you were out late August you know how god damn cold it got lol. Anyway it was my first trip to WA and i'm more determined than ever to get back over their now i now what i am in for but in the meantime, i'll watch your videos and grit my teeth here in SA and keep trying to figure out the 3 spots we have here to detect and find that first piece of yellow that's hopefully waiting for me. As for now tho, i will live vicariously thru you and all your success and try and learn a thing or 2 :)

Its a tough game, it can make you question your sanity at times, most places l try take a little more effort to get to and then walking another km or 2 each day helps you to find virgin ground or at least ground a lot less looked at, a person can also walk straight through the middle of a patch without hitting a target which is why l find zig-zagging a bit more effective, but like you say- camping out and getting off the grid for a while is food for the soul, l can only hope something l upload helps you in your search, l will upload again within the week and show exactly what l look for and exactly how l go about it, hope it helps, cheers NM.

Well done mate, very interesting. I love your work, but not hearing the detector signal makes us miss out on half your experience. If you could find a way to mic up your detector, you'd be even better. FYR: A mate pointed me to Nugget Magnet after I recommended Aussie Gold Hunters (Discovery) to him.

Thanks Stuart, l bought an external speaker for this season and it broke first week, so sorry mate but its headphones again, l have modified the microphone on the camera and hope to sort that issue, cheers to your mate also, NM.

do you need any permit to do this? can a foreigner do it?
@TheNuggetMagnet6 жыл бұрын
Gidday Ran, yes anyone can go prospecting here in Australia and all you need to prospect or metal detect is a "Miners Right" which you can obtain through the "Department of Mines and Petroleum" for a sum of "AUD$25, l intend to upload a video showing everyone the process and where you can prospect legally, cheers and hope this helps, NM.

Hi Cindy, l watched one episode so far and will watch more tomorrow, extremely interesting viewing, now l wonder what l have thrown away without even realising, thanks for letting me know, cheers NM.
@stevetreloar66026 жыл бұрын
Cindy Williamson, I'm kind of offended by the mudd fossil guy; seriously, he invokes alchemy and states that the source of the gold is in biblical giants blood vessels that were killed during Noah's flood. There is no science that supports the Christian young earth model. If his hypothesis had any merit he would be fabulously rich and published in scientific journals rather than posting absurd youtube videos. Nothing he has to say has any scientific merit and is certainly not supported by any gold ore deposit geology that I am aware of and I have spent years on it (28 actually). The truth of it is that in most gold deposits, the gold is not even visible and that counts for the vast majority of production.

Steve Treloar do you have an email.... I can you how the earth stacks upon it sell.... There are many layers...and it's every story in the bible!😁
@stevetreloar66026 жыл бұрын
I do have an email as it happens. Further, nothing I have read in the bible or studied at university (biology and geology) accords with a literal biblical interpretation of what we see around us. Outside of the USA, there just are not that many people who believe the earth is only 6500 years old. Sorry.

You can probably deduct a gram off your total after you tooth brush the dirt off them. Why don't you fellas ever add up the hours it took you to find a days haul and then tell us how much an hour you made that day for all your sweat?
@donthebaptistestes66704 жыл бұрын
That's some pretty good wages then ain't it. The best hourly wage I ever made was when I had my window washing business and I made $77.00 an hour for 13 hours. I had got a low income apartment complex contract. It was a one time deal. Each unit only had two windows and the sliding glass door. I only had to wash the outside of the windows and got $5.00 per unit. I normally averaged 20 to 25 an hour on my regular route and only had to work 3 hours a day 3 times a week. I was building the monthly clientele when I hurt my back playing at the beach and that was the end of that. So now I sit here watching you fellas and only dream of trying it. It will never happen though. Thanks for the reply and don't spend all that gold on beer and sheilas. God bless you and yours..
