Even though I don’t play volleyball I still think a different perspective can give some interesting insight. This years Tall Ones looks a lot better than the 2019 version on the technical side, but the undying energy and team morale from the 2019 team makes me think they would do better if they played in the 2023 nationals

It's been years since I saw the 2019 games, but I do think this year's team is more complete and consequently more consistent. The starting roster this year was strong and had no weak links (I remember that OP and one MB were on the weaker side in 2019, but I might be confusing with 2018). Both starting MB were amazing. On the other hand, 2019 had more offensive potential on the outside because of josh (BTW, why did he leave the team?), I think your style of spiking is better for complementing a more powerful OH (on a 3 attacker rotation, instead of a 2 attacker rotation like you played this year), especially after the ankle sprain. The other 2 OH this year were really good, but I think the team would benefit a LOT from that strong and reliable OH cannon. Jason could've filled this role as OP, but I think John underused him a little bit (probably because they lacked connection, understandable). I hope Jason continues playing with you! The team's game changed significantly after he and John got their connection right. Also, in 2019 it felt like you guys had a deeper bond, but this year all of the team seemed to be more mature in keeping the head in the game, so it evens out in the psychological aspect. In the end it's always great to see The Tall Ones play, no matter the roster! Hope you can get your goals

Coach Donny, in your video with the Out Of System guys, you said that in your opinion the best volleyball shoe of all time was the Kobe 6. After having tried the Way Of Wade 10, do you still think that for an Outside Hitter or for an Opposite it is still the Kobe 6? Or would you opt for the WOW10? Thank you very much

IMHO I think the 2019 team was a little better. I think your attack scheme was better having Josh as an option for the pyke attack. And you and Brandt benefited from being 4 years younger as well. Jason Lee was a huge bright spot this year though. Once John and him got on the same page he was 2019 Josh level converting oh his hits

Current team more balanced. 2019 definitely had more of that aggression that’s probably associated with youth. Consistency vs high risk high reward imo.
