Norway looks beautiful to do DofE , or any hiking for that matter, I'm doing my gold this year, but we're doing it in Scotland, which is still exciting! But we have to walk it because we couldn't hire kayaks or bikes, which is kinda sad! Still, it looks like you had a great time! i did my bronze expedition earlier this year with my school, and as we were getting off the coach for our PRACTICE, my laces got hooked on the hooks of the walking boots and i tripped on this really rocky road and cut my forehead... my leader put a plaster on the deepest bit of the cut, and to make things even worse, i got a tan line where the plaster had been on my forehead:( it was a nightmare! i now have a scar on my forehead in the shape of an S (to make this even worse my name is Scarlett) i must have been so unlucky, your expedition looked amazing! This video is so cool, i love you and your channel so much!

You but i need some help😭as a year 10 student in Wales we follow the WJEC exam board and im already thinking about the future and i dont really do any sports because i feel quite insecure and are school dont really offer clubs after school in year 10 .I realized in a few years im going to have to write my personal statement is there anyway i can start doing things now that will help me study in the area of medicine ? I couldn’t do mine in my school so I joined an external unit and it was in my experience better than what my friends said the school one was 🤷‍♀️ you could maybe try and find an out of school one near you? I did it externally! My school only offered bronze and silver so I had to go through quite a lot of research to find a gold provider near enough to me - I just got lucky that they offered it abroad xx

this was brilliant! you looked like you had a blast :) i'm doing my silver dofe in july and these tips really helped! my bronze, although i loved it, i made the mistake of not bringing enough snacks which wasn't great, so i will have to make sure to take a lot with me for the silver! haha. also, what does talc do?? what was your friend using it for? oh another question! what food do you recommend for an evening meal? i'm thinking pasta one night and then a vegetable omelette the next but not sure if it's possible to cook one on a trangia... it may just turn into scrambled eggs lol 🤔

how will you carry the eggs? I think that’s the main problem. They can go off so quick if it’s summer. My group did pancakes idek how but we bought a little pan and store batter and mixed it with water and they were actually DELICIOUS like aghhh I died in the morning 😍 we had Nutella and hot chocolate sachets too so it was pretty banging. not sure about the egg situation though... depends on if they’d go off

hahah i live in scotland and i did my gold dofe up north and it didn’t rain at all, we were so lucky!! but i was told it does rain all the time in scotland, there are only 30 days in the year where it doesn’t rain anywhere in scotland lol

At least in scotland there are many organisations outside of schools that offer dofe, I'd look into some :)

Personally, everyone who did bronze practically dropped out in Year 11 and didn't do silver, but most ended up regretting it. Thing is, you won't be revising every second of every day, and I think it's so important to go out of your comfort zone in other areas to develop things like communicative skills. The expeditions will never be during exams either!! It's your choice and you know yourself best, but from my experience, it's definitely doable x

I’ve completed bronze and silver and hated the expeditions ngl! Do I progress to Gold as it’s canoeing rather than walking? Will this be easier or more difficult and how much more difficult is gold than silver based on your experiences? As much as I dislike the expeditions, I don’t want to miss out on going to Scotland and the awards ceremony, particularly as I’ve already got this far. Does Gold carry more weight than Bronze & Silver on a UCAS application? Anyone’s advice welcome!
