Gold Foil Printing vs Pantone Metallic Ink vs Foil Paper vs Cold Foil vs Scodix

I like the golden foil, pretty much, however, I noticed something unexpected by observing the look of the golden-foil captions in a book (two pages 17" wide, 12" height). A man sits on a chair. The book is on one's legs, or on the table in the front, or in one's hands. The golden foil captions are spread all over two white pages of the big book (top, bottom, left, right, inside, outside, center, etc.). By looking from any of those three positions, most of the golden foil, like 3/4 (!) (spread everywhere on two big pages) DOESN'T really shine, as one shines from other viewing angles (mostly from side views, depending on light etc). The colour of the golden foil that doesn't really shine, can be called mustard colour. Sometimes/somewhere light-mustard, sometimes dark-mustard colour. Has anyone else noticed that? Anyone have some advice?

A Baby’s Board Book If you are using Pantone for some silver metallic INK through out book, and some hot foils…. Do you use the Spot UV on the book?

You can use spot uv on the silver ink to make it more similar to foil. Spot uv does not go on top of hot foil. Also keep in mind to use spot uv you need to have a coated paper. Otherwise for uncoated paper, consider clear hit of thermographic ink.

A video on holographic foil would be great! totally lost in that realm. Some are transparent, silver etc, not sure when to use them or how to pick them etc

I would not recommend printing ink on top of foil. But one foil color over another foil color works just fine :)

@@Printpeppermint Hi! Thank you for the reply :) Actually my doubt was in reverse order, first the metallic ink (pantone) printing, then the superimposed hot stamping. But I didn't know that I could superimpose different hot foil colors. That's even better. Thanks!
