I know that the highlights must be few and far between, but seeing that Edward III quarter noble come out of the ground surely makes up for all the disappointments, and then some! I've been interested in this for a few years got my first detector last Monday so had to test it in real conditions so I went to the local river with a path along side and as soon Ias I switched it on It started beeping within 2ft so I dug the signal and it was a 5p only modern but I thought I'll take it as a good sign, I continued found 4 more coins all modern £1.28 total and an old duckhams oil can top, I absolutely loved it I've been out every opportunity since.

Looks almost as clean as the day it was smelted gold never seems old it never looks crap even after however many 100 years it's been buried, also being new at this game I never knew the hammered gold coins I thought only silver so learned something new today, I wouldn't mind knowing where theirs a few of them on the isle of man that said about 4 years ago a guy found 4 or 5 gold coins in one spot maybe 2 metres square and that was only 2 miles from where I live and probably less than a mile from where I have been digging so I need to get permission to have a try. Gotta do it by the book for luck but also you get the book thrown at you if you get caught selling illegally detected coins etc 1 guy got 6 years after trying to sell some incredibly rare coins.

Yes mate the Gold ones are out there and always by the book I believe in karma don’t upset the detecting gods! I just went out for an hour until it started raining 🌧 but I'm getting the hang of the numbers and the tone I can usually tell if it's a ring pull but you know yourself that some signal can't be ignored. I'm sure I'll get something good and I definitely believe in karma I don't want to upset the gods 🙏 what goes round etc etc. Really great content and good finds all round but the gold was amazing m8
