Gold leafing a heron

Sunday morning, adding some gold leaf. Note to self - don’t do it in the kitchen next time…

Beautiful. Did you seal your Heron before adding gold leaf? And did you seal your gold leaf after you added it?

I sealed it all after with a uv spray varnish. this is artificial gold so it needs to be sealed. real gold will not tarnish.

How does it stay on? Very pretty btw

you apply a special glue called gold size. It dries to become as sticky as a Postit note

Honestly it isn't! Gold leafing is ever so forgiving. Unless you want perfection. Then it's hard. Lucky I don't like perfection....
