The brother, Dawood Khan, exposing the 'truth' was revealed with confidence, yet is it the case that he, having worked over 6 years in the criminal laundering syndicate, was coming out to tell the truth to avoid prosecution or have a lenient sentence, if any? Plenty of people in Zimbabwe and South Africa cannot afford to buy a new pair of shoes. And these criminals treat a million US$ as nothing. Disgraceful.

After these episodes, having learnt that the mafia is bigger than the gvt, it's is not easy for Zimbos to vote out the mafia. The exposé shows the mafia, controls the army, judiciary, economy, society and above all determine what the citizens will be. Walking on their heads and feasting on their backs. It takes Unity for every concerned citizen to take the role, it onus to make a change. The same reason why NC is not saying much because he knows it's not an individual battle. Everything in Zim is gone. Zimbabwe it's time believe in ourselves we can free ourselves now or we can suffer forever. What is there for the coming generation if we don't standup. Extremely good (and brave) journalism 👏👏👏 I think what the programme does do (and does it extremely well) is to actually join the dots between “suspicions” and irrefutable “facts”: bank statements, fake invoices etc. all neatly corroborating the allegations that came out of the interviews. All too often, exposés of this nature are based too much on hearsay. The balance here was both professional and hard hitting. I echo the deep sadness expressed by many here. Africa and its people deserve so much more from not just its own leaders, but also from the international community and especially the banks (without whom NONE of this would ever be possible). It is no surprise whatsoever that HSBC remain up to their eyeballs in such criminal activity. In my view, HSBC remain the indisputable and unchallenged global facilitator of criminal misconduct of all time. They are more powerful than governments and any law enforcement authority and act with shameless impunity. Too big to fail and too big to jail.

@@DiamondQuality1 Im from the DRC and believe it or not the corruption in Zim is meaningless compare to Congo’s. But as you said this is an Africa issue as this Network of criminals operates throughout the whole continent involving all sort of individuals from shameless locals to foreigners. I hope that now that people understand why Africa is struggling to take off that the population will one day rise up and take the matter in their own hands.

What exactly did you want them to do? I guess in your eyes if white daddy tells Zimbabwe you're country is under sanction, you think the good and moral thing to do is to please your white daddy and have no source of income for your country. STUPID. You let these bazungu tell you what to do meanwhile the stuff they did in order to enrich their nations (slavery, selling drugs to the Chinese, colonizing whole CONTINENTS, plundering TRILLIONS of dollars from countries around the world).. well, that's OK for white daddy to do... but if Zimbabwe takes back its stolen land, then it needs to be sanctioned and just do whatever white daddy says.

I am Afrcan and I have a few things to point out: The first is, we appreciate Aljazeera for bringing this to light. individual journalists concerned have our never ending thanks. Second, I want us Africans, especiallly Zims, to be objective. Do not use any biases when Xraying this issue. Corruption pays only a few in Africa - Yes! The guys caught in this expose placed themselves in a compromising position - Yes! Is this a clear case of greed? - Yes! The thing is, what interests does this expose serve? How has deaing with others who claim to be better, served Africans or Zims? Who is the authority on where a sovereign nation should sell it's resources and what personalities they deal with, especially taking into account sanctions? Internatoal politics and diplomacy is an interesting game. How and when Africa and or any nation therein, decides to play, is the prerogative of Africa or said nation. We appreciate this as it xrays the areas where checks and balances are needed, but we encourage everyone to be open minded and have/hold their opinions. This is the only way Africa/zim will move forward.
@nkosanaignitiousmoyo6544 Жыл бұрын
You are insinuating that somehow these dirty dealings are alright considering that Zim has sanctions and it is good to shun the western countries. Well you are not alone. The reserve bank indicated that they are not restricted to trade internationally, secondly you have no idea how Zim people are suffering in all aspects at the mercy of a few who are benefitting from such corruption. Have you observed the colour of the people who are benefitting? You have no idea what corruption can do to a country? National business being handled by tricksters? Criminal money being moved by the highest office against international regulation come on. Everything is down to the ground in Zim the sick are running to Zambia for treatment. Just last week a woman was pleading with immigration authority saying I am to trying and survive, back home I will die. The dream of a young Zim today is to finish school and come to Europe and never look back, while some of us are yearning to go and live our lives back home, who will build this once mighty country? I see many with your school of thought trying to be sensational and riding a misguided pan Africanism on this matter, you forget that people are suffering it is human lives at stake. What sovereignty is here when it is white foreigners benefitting from the national resources while the masses remain poor. Stop it, we need the rule of law in great Zim, today the fish is rotten from the head going down, it needs to be thrown away. This revelation is here to help every Zimbabwean to fight and get their lovely country back, what ever it takes

This goes down in history as the best international journalism work ever. Only Al Jazeera's "FISHROT" documentary of 2018, that got 2 Namibian ministers in jail comes close. These things can only be solved by an empowered African Union (AU). Right now, the AU does not have any power to align its member states, its just an idea sharing platform. We need all 54 national Parliaments to establish a continental house, that make harmonizing laws for the entire continent. These laws will cover everything, except state security, central government, and executive powers. They must however decide on source of personal wealth, movement of money, informal use of state institutions, and conduct of national elections.
