The first headframe you came to was the Robert Emmett, the big one set back on private property was the Ibex ore bin, the one that you spent a lot of time at and looked down through the grate was the New Monarch mine and ore bin, one of my favorites near Leadville (partly owned by JJ Brown of Molly Brown fame) and then the last part with the ponds and old houses was Stumptown...all great stuff!

Thanks for sharing Mark! Wonderful area and history! So the Robert Emmet is actually the claim right next to the headframe. The headframe sits on the "Result" claim but likely intersects what was know as the Robert Emmet vein below. I think there is a vast mineral deposit below Stumptown.

When I was a kid I used to go up to Leadville and spend the Summers with my cousins up there they lived in stringtown and we would go roaming those hills behind for hours and hours I never knew that was up there never seen it first chance I get I might head up there and go visit my cousin's again

I am sure that you would absolutely love it Toby! The main zone with all of these cool structures is on the East side of town and much of it can be accessed with a regular vehicle.
