Goldnote has surprisingly cleaner and more holographic sound. I REALLY like it

I would like to hear them with an external DAC. The job of the amplifier is to "amplify" the voice of the DAC. This time I heard the Gold note more musical, right in the moment where the duet in the background of the last song, voices sound more cohesive/coherent.

@@vvmaster2010 Excellent insight, that's what I noticed here too, I agree that the best scenario is to always use a dedicated external DAC. However, in this all-in-one scenario, the Gold Note's built-in DAC seems more refined and musical to me.

I'm in the market to upgrade and had the Hegel as my #1 choice with the Naim Unity Nova as a close 2nd, so I was pulling for the Hegel. I had never heard of the Goldnote and man, it sounds great to me with my Focal 1008's and 2 Rel subs. Then I look online while listening and find a 25% Off Sale! So many good choices out there!
