@@superwolf32 I'm not sure, sorry. I use drain opener. Make sure that it's made of sulfuric acid. The brand I use is GM-30 here in Canada.

I dont have alot of nitric acid so rather then disolving metal i used aqua regina to disolve gold plating then poured off to use on more stuff.i plan on rinsing pins to catch any chemicals left

Try dissolving base metals with CuCl2. Just add HCl and wait. The more CuCl2 forms, the faster the etching is. If you want to jumpstart it, just add a little H2O2. It takes time and needs oxygen from the air to work. But it dissolves all base metals with just HCl.

I feel like you have to check your stock pot. I just ran 100 grams of good pins (not great, but nice) and I got well over 1 gram. I haven't weighed it yet, but I've seen enough of them to know it's at least a gram after cleaning and very pure. I use 50% water, 50% nitric 2x, clean foils, then AR Nitric and Hydrochloric, filter, drop, AR again, filter, drop. And it's fast, with clean gold.

They're really not unless you have a cheap nitric acid source.

Modern computers are not worth the effort. Electronicts / computers before 2010 are ok. If you can get things from before 2000 your in for a big surprise. You wll get that much from a single desktop computer. I enjoy doing it, but I work with (not for) a salvage company. A 90% profit in most cases, To do this you need to get 2 grams of gold fromm 100 grams of material. If flattened 2 grams of gold will be about the size of a US dime but thinner

Using Nitric alone to remove tin will leech the tin into your , when you're rolling through the usual recovery process, metastannic acid is going to be formed as a gel in the liquid, paste when you try to filter it out. It's a pain in the ass. For me, it's always necessary to be safe and dissolve the tin with HCL before you start the real process. And it's not much extra work....at all. Trying to separate your gold from the metastannic acid is a lot of work. It sucks
