I know exactly where you are at. Im from and have prospected that area for over 25 years. That creek has really good gold but you have to be in the right spot or else you'll be chasing fly poop. Go downstream from the bridge you parked at and it gets much much better. All the creeks in that county have gold but some are better than others.

Hey benzo Tom from South Carolina I have a couple of rivers and creeks by me in South Carolina I want to give them a shot any suggestion the creek that you went to I don't know where it is but you had a lot of Creek Banks and gravel bars to prospect I would test fan the banks of the creek because every time it floods it changes and the gravel bars moved so look with a gravel bars are and dig under them you may find more gold

I was logging in 1992 in Nashville nc in a tract that had a lot of streams and found a gold nugget the size of my thumb nail and a small pill bottle half full of gold dust that i sifted through a piece of screen..not much but i found gold..true story folks..

Right on Man, not much beats a day in the creek. Im about 3 hours from there. Every creek is a little different but look for deposits of heavies, black sands and ironstones ✌😎🍻

Gold can commonly be found in waiste pits. Or chambers or sess pits or septic chambers. These old quarried chambers are everywhere. So many they can lie over eachouther. In just about any size. !!!

Hey thanks. Per hour..I never tried to measure it like that. Thats not really the point to recreational gold panning. There's a lot more to it than the gold totals. I highly recommend anyone to try it as a peaceful day in nature full of exploration discovery and hard work any gold semiprecious stones or artifacts gained is clearly a bonus.✌

Let's say that yields a quarter of a gram, which amounts to about 0.75 grams of gold per hour, and that gives just about 42 hours to get an ounce of gold by panning in a typical but decent spot." That translates into about $45/hour. - which is pretty damn good, really. I guess the key is finding a good spot!!
