How to Recycle Gold from Circuit Boards. Many electronic devices contain a small amount of gold, especially on the circuit board. This is because gold is a highly efficient conductor (better than copper) and it does not corrode, ensuring therefore that no interruption occurs in transmitting voltages and currents needed to run the device. If you’ve opened an electronic device before, such as radios, televisions, or even your old cellphone, you’ve seen their inner workings. Ever noticed those shiny gold-colored parts on the circuit boards? Those bright pieces of metal are, in fact, gold. Gold is used on electronic circuit boards because of its excellent conductive properties and because it doesn’t corrode or rust over time. If you still have any of those circuit boards lying around, have a bit of fun and mine them for gold.

2g of 24k gold is worth £90, but still the chemicals and electrical components probably cost more, or marginally less than the gold which gives you an almost negligible profit margin which is only significant large scale. I think this channel is mostly informative and entertaining rather than commercial or industrial advice

Gold scrap is far more valuable per pound than useable gold ore, however, it is still only profitable in large volumes, (I'd personally use less chemicals and more mechanical process to recover the gold)

I question if its worth the effort and expense of consumables needed to extract the gold unless doing it on an industrial scale where a lot more scrap can be processed in a single batch. The gold plating is VERY THIN and even getting a gram of gold would be hard.

Dump them in the sewer in the night... Just be careful no one is looking lol. Just kidding, that is ilegal, you can put some electricity to recover other metals like copper, iron and with any luck things like tantalium. Or you could get some scrap iron and use that to recover copper from the waste, copper sells also for a pretty peny. And then you end up with iron chloride and nitrate, neutralize with calcium hidroxide to produce iron hydroxide (rust) and calcium salts that could be added to fertilizer, at your own risk.
