Episode 146 - So after many months and a stressful house move I have finally brought my beautiful museum quality finds cabinet upstairs into my Detectorium and filled it with some of my metal detecting finds from my 7 years of hard graft scouring the land. Everything you see has been found by my hands in and around the Derbyshire Dales with numerous machines including my Garrett AT Pro, XP ORX, Nokta Makro Simplex and my ACE 250.
7 years of hard graft, 7 years of passion, 7 years of my life in one cabinet. I hope you guys enjoy this presentation video.

I have to tell you you have some stunning and beautiful finds and you should be really proud of them and congratulations! That is a symbol of dedication and love for what you do. And there's no doubt about that. And it represents a hell of a lot of holes dug! LOL and think about all the junk and trash that you dug up in between all of those it's just mind-boggling when you think how many holes you've dug over the years isn't it? When I look at my finds I'm amazed at how many holes that they represent it's just incredible! I have to be honest with you of all the finds I've seen you dig up that seal matrix is the one that makes me the most jealous and I would give anything to have found that myself! That is one find that is going to be really hard to top! As I stated earlier congratulations you deserve every single one of those pieces that you found.

Hi mate that is literally one of the nicest comments I've ever received. Yeah the amount of holes, the amount of scrap, the miles walked etc etc its all worth it. I just love been out there doing what I do, its awesome, its the best hobby in the world. Every detectorist should be proud of their finds and have a little display somewhere or other. The gold fob seal is the best thing I've ever found during my KZbin days. But a few years ago I was lucky enough to find a gold hammered, and for me that is my number 1 find. I will be doing a follow on video to this showing my gold and silver coins - which to be honest should smash this video out the water 😁 Thank you again 🍻

Hi Gareth As John said, don’t change a thing mate . The only reason your channel would be slow at growing, would be that some people may not know about it, certainly not because of how you do your videos , that’s their loss . I , like everyone else, absolutely love them mate ,,,,, just as they are. Better to have your channel grow slowly but keep it as it is and have some dignity rather than acting like the clown that is West Country cleggy, please, whatever you do, don’t go down that route. Cheers Dave, the cabinet isn't actually that big, its very high so takes up not a great deal of floor space. I have my own dedicated room 'The Detectorium', in it I've got my cabinet, desk and laptop and some nice ambient lighting. I need some shelves to house more detecting/filming equipment 😁

What a belter, the lead weight in the middle which people say are fishing net weights. Me and a mate found three the same. Nowhere near any lakes or river, I think they could be retarious net weights, ours where found a hundred yeards or so from a Roman judiciary... well done Gareth great video....

All I can say is no matter what machine you begin with it is going to be frustrating amd difficult. The key to successfull metal detecting is getting great permissions - fields that have very little trash/iron and full of coins and other such finds. But you have the best all round metal detector on the market thats for sure. Practice makes perfect 😁

Great job of displaying your finds. Like your videos. I don't know if 'old' lead is seen to be non toxic or not. However I would not be keeping lead in my house. It's oxides are toxic. It didn't do the Romans much good. Take care.

The dust from lead and lead oxide is poisonous if ingested or inhaled in quantity, but I don't see there being a risk when the Finds are in a closed cabinet..if somebody wanted to go the extra mile, you could coat and seal the items with a clear matt lacquer of some sort...Museums use a product called Paraloid 72 for such purposes so maybe a call to your FLO for some advice would set you on the right track. If you do decide to try a sealer, I would try it on something not too important first to see if you like the result...

I finally visit the lead shed (virtually) that ampulla is simply great .just found one at idridgehay but not a patch on yours .looks great ,cabinet just right for finds .

Hi Jack, it is funny yes, I only have 2 complete bells and they are flippin beautiful, the sound they make is amazing. All my favourite silver and gold coins live in my Peter Nichols mahogany cabinet - you will see this in another video. The silver sixpence and shillings you see in this video are the common silvers that I don't want in my coin box so I display them like this here in the cabinet 😁 Thanks for your kind words

The round things? I find a lot of 'lead discs', some are weights but others I do not know, maybe gaming pieces
