During vacuum filtration with a Büchner funnel, the filter paper is first moistened, then the vacuum pump is switched on and finally the solution to be filtered is poured into the Büchner funnel. If you first pour the solution into the funnel and then turn on the vacuum pump, you will ensure that particles suspended in the solution get under the filter paper and get back into the solution. Only with a glass frit the order is not crucial. However, glass frits are rather unsuitable for such purposes.
