As a Boilermaker fan I have always respected Tom Izzo. His wisdom from years of experience just bleeds through and he is always databased. A walking legend.

Respect! As a Spartan fan, I love Mackey Arena and the Paint Crew. I truly believe that Painter will take over Izzo’s all time B1G wins record. I love the relationships our two coaches have. Best of the luck the rest of the way!

Pretty incredible that Izzo can still identify the plays (and name) of a Purdue player that hasn't been in uniform for 2-3 years.

A great coach. Almost pulled off a win.

Overall good game for MSU. Glad to see Booker is starting to get some good minutes, his plus minus was +14, I think Tom is going to start him full time soon. My only gripe is that Tom for some unknown reason tries to play two bigs at the same time, no surprise when Cooper and Mady were in at the same time was when Purdue started their run which was the difference in the game.

Cooper and Booker together is a good option. Booker spreads the floor, can handle the ball, has inside moves, can shoot 3's, should have played more from the start. Izzo can't develop players, especially Bigs. The assistant that developed Nix and Ward is gone. Sissoko does not play smart and for a senior has a disappointing basketball IQ.

@@laj382he can’t develop bigs but he’s already developed Booker a shit ton. Make it make sesne

watched this game tonight. Could not understand why Tom did not play Booker alongside Koehler enough. He was left on an island against Edey towards end of first half and that was a turning point Also should have played his bench more but MSU gets an A+ for efforts

Yes, Painter snookered Izzo on substitutions out of the time out right before Edey took Booker to school on 2 consecutive plays. But now everyone can see what Izzo means when he says Booker isn't ready to play full time yet.

Good effort. The lesson is to give Booker more play time. And reduce Hoggards minutes.

Still bewildered why they gave up with 10 seconds left down 6 and Purdue had to inbound from under their own hoop with no timeouts. Why was Izzo’s logic for this not questioned in this press conference?
@nrundell8 ай бұрын
I was confused by this as well. I literally said “why are they giving up?”

same bs by izzo. stop saying "this is on me." if its always on you then get the hell out of Dodge. no, you don't have a good team, far from it . can you see their pathetic shooting percentage game after game? its tournament time dude! the little things should've been worked out months ago. sickening slippage of msg standards. just awful.

Will be interesting to see if we end up playing them again in the Big Ten tourney when they don't have their home cooking refs in bed with their "cheat code" Edey anymore. I bet we win the rematch if so.

Keep dreaming, and quit whining about the "home cooking refs” and our “cheat code". You guys played well, but try going out with your heads held high - ya know, you guys played a good game, and would have beat most teams at a neutral site. Edey is just a different animal. But, trying showing a little class. I hope you guys finish strong and make the tourney. Another positive: This year’s MSU squad has fewer rapists on scholarship.

Agree, the officials put Edey on the free-throw line for several little touch fouls. Also, he gets away with over-the-back and 3 seconds in the paint the entire game. Purdue is lucky their guards shot the ball well.
@andrewshort45038 ай бұрын
@laj look up ncaa 3 second rules. The rules for ncaa differ greatly from nba and ihsaa. Edey only has to have one foot step out of the paint to restart the count and with his size he can do this without leaving the paint. Additionally if he starts a basketball move the count is suspended. Edey knows these rules and takes full advantage of them. Do you really think every ref in the country just chooses to not enforce the rules or perhaps it could be your understanding of the ncaa rules is misguided.
