Totally agree with Goldbridge. Most fans have such short memories. When you watch Arsenal play now and compare to Arsenal under Wenger and Emery then you can appreciate the significant progress. Arsenal dominate many games now. The missing piece is squad depth (we saw the slump when Odegaard was injured) and a clinical centre forward who is skillful and can link with Midfield in the build-up (Isak).

Being an original Clock-End Gooner starting from 1968, this game was finely balanced on my historic bias toward Spurs and the loathing I have for Man U. The final score seemed to satisfy my need at this point, seeing the Manc's suffer that little bit more. Good post 👍

In reference to Goldbridge’s comments on Arsenal. I as a Gooner, mostly agree with him. We are ahead of schedule. And as another fan channel said, Arteta has built an amazing defense. Which is why where we are at in the table. Now we just need some attackers. Players with the minerals to make that cutting pass, to take chances. To take shots, attack the 18 yard box. You never know, that defense might win us a Champions League trophy. Weirder things have happened. Spend some money in January on a striker or left winger, or both. COYG!!
@rob28882Күн бұрын
What Goldbridge said about Arsenal, I do understand where he is coming from. But here's my take. When you transition from a struggling club and then stabilise. Its like a snake shedding its skin. New standards and new targets need to be set. They went from a stabilised club to a title challenger. Thats skin 2 shed. The final skin shed is the hardest one. Turn challengers into winners. The environment is right for players to thrive. But are they getting the final few pieces from recruitment to finish the squad off? As good as Arteta has been, can he get them over the line? The jury is out on the recruitment and Arteta. We've seen many good coaches who just can't get the job done. He might be the man before the right man comes along to take them to the next level. But also, Arsenal need a better LW, push Martinelli to the bench. A ST to link up play and poach chances. Apart from that, they are strong. Why does Arteta keep switching from really defensive football (which should only be reserved for teams who you think are better than you or its a massive game like a champions league semi final against a hard to beat team). Then really attacking? That balance is all wrong and not needed IMO. I think Arteta might of taken them as far as he is capable of. Where he has them is better than most could of done. But winning titles is a small pool of managers to pick from. Arsenal should of won at least once in the last 2 years, but fell apart at the end of both seasons. That has to be on the manager if the squad is good enough to win. What's the difference between Man City, Liverpool and Arsenal? Not a lot IMO. Arsenal have failed! If Man United would of been in the same scenario, I would of been disappointed from the position they were in 2 seasons ago. Last season should of been their season from the disappointment from the year before. There is a final piece missing!
@allymapinda880418 сағат бұрын
Mark was right on what he said about Arsenal. We're where we deserve to be! Citeh are serial winners, and Liverpool is a strong and experienced team. Those players have won the league, champions league 🏆 and other trophies. Arteta is building a winning team, now he needs to sign a striker and a left winger to complete his mission to start fighting for the titles.

Arsenal fan here. I understand and partly agree with Marc to be honest. We as a club are not as big city and Liverpool and what we have done considering that has been positive. Having said that, arsenal are not a small club either. We currently have a 1st 11 that can compete with both city and Liverpool. We have the squad to be able to win big trophies so that's where I differ from Marc. It's our depth of quality we struggle with and maybe even artettas in game management at crucial times. One thing I won't be happy about though is if chelsea bulldoze through like we did a couple of seasons back and actually win the prem. That's not acceptable from my point of view.

Yet again i also agree with you on Chelsea too, fuck me if they go and win the league or challenge right till the end/finish ahead of us and/or win a trophy then that's gonna be a major kick in the teeth after the shit years they've just had!

Goldbridge dropping some truths, Arsenal are a victim of their own success. Probably transfer strategies needed immediate reworking because the team attained levels faster than anticipated. I think last year and this year are the bumps needed to close that gap where the club “expected” to be in and where they actually are now. Squad is really good and I’m happy for them to make smart decisions as opposed to rash ones. Arsenal does have the finances to make many errors, don’t need to start getting hasty. Squad is really good and progress is there so keep going. Recalculate, reassess, amend the strategy and finish building the squad that’ll dominate

Goldbridge is generally correct about Arsenal but you are somewhat misreading his take. You are Man Utd, the biggest club in the country and you yourself say it will take you years to compete again. This is because where you are has similarities to we were when Arteta took over. We have built a squad and system from scratch, reformed our management structure etc. It's nothing to do with scale, it takes time to get from rock bottom to competing. We do need to start winning things though, but I fear we are still a striker and a winger short. We also have a ticking time bomb in the centre of midfield, we are running out of time with 2 of our no 6s, and Merino is what? 28 already?

As like it was said. Early success holds you to that standard. Does any one ever wonder why Pep was so eager so win the carabao cup back to back to back when building that city side? Gives you belief. Gives you a winning mentality. And it’ll make you realise you’re better than the teams you face on a weekly basis. Look what it has made city achieve. We have won titles in purple patches of time but not constantly. Tottenham fans are the worst as they seem to think they were great once upon a time. I am 58 years old and have only see Spurs win three FA cups a couple of league cups and one European trophy I seen them get relegated as well. Fans need a reality check on who their clubs are.

EPL is a very high competition league. Finishing runner-up = Higher Expectations. d) Slot is new to EPL, regardless of inherited squad = Bed in time. Pep & ManCiteh wobble = Transitional phase. So its a Bogus comparitive. e) Underlying data trends are v. positive! = AFC highest GD in league in season to April 24. f) Managerial stability. = Arteta is now 5yrs in! = How long till AFC are challenging?! 10yrs? 20....? 50yrs..?! I could go on... I won't. Goldie is just parroting a popular MSM comment without taking in wider context & other datapoints.

Why is it that United fans can understand what Goldbridge is saying but the likes of lee gunner and his butt boys cant understand??

His right but I get frustrated sometimes when I see you and mark defending arsenal and ARTETA , I only care about united and I would even prefer city win more league titles than to see arsenal , chealse and Liverpool win it . I don't have problems with a Manchester club

Is Arsenal a big club? 800mil spent, 5 seasons under Arteta and only an FA cup gained... Arteta is the 2nd longest manager in charge in the Premier league and won 1 trophy. I don't understand, if you are a big club demand more and don't move the goal posts or create 100 excuses... Terry and Goldbridge are treating you guys like a small club and you all agree

😂😂😂😂 It is illegal to hate on arsenal in 2024.

Why
@keithprice471116 сағат бұрын
Because Terry you cry and make a video about ' Arsenal Hate' yet you don't have that energy for certain other clubs, you don't call out Liverpool or Spurs hate for example yet you've made loads of Arsenal Hate videos

Arsenal trying to win Premier League, CL, FA Cup, League Cup. What professional player would ever wake up and think “I’m playing well last 2 seasons but this form is too early” i mean wtf am I hearing? Has everyone really only played football on console or something? chatting that “oh no experienced” crap well.. how do get experience in the first place? Pure utter crap. Content creators letting it all go to their heads these days. Try running up a fight of steps without needing CPR instead of thinking you know what top athletes are thinking because that definitely ain’t it.

What player would leave your small club to then join a big UCL winning club for £5m? Try laying off the roids and the pipe and start thinking straight before you post on social media...

Mouthy Terry is even unable to show the clips of someone without constantly pausing the video to flap his gums giving his opinion on everything, shame his parents didn't tell him his opinion is worth f**k all.
