Well done for Troy Deeney for calling this out. You see so many sheep on here that clearly know nothing about football who just back the next thing spun to them through the media. Recently it was Osimhen. Now it is Gyokeres. The media are obsessed about grifting £100 million out of Premier League Clubs for players who would be bang average in the Premier League. Both Gyokeres and Osimhen would be lightweight in the Premier league. They're not big units or have explosive pace and so could easily be marked out of the game by the supreme athlete's we have as defenders that play in the league. Sure, have a £20-£30 million punt on them, but PL Clubs need to stop paying ridiculous transfer fees for players like they're guaranteed to become PL stars. That's just ridiculous. PL Clubs need to stop being taken advantage of by foreign clubs in btech european leagues.

Totally agree. When was the last time that a world class striker wasn’t mint straight out of the gate. To be 26 and just starting to bag numbers is worrying. Suggests the Portuguese league is his right fit.

Is Grealish proven? Has he got a legacy to ruin? Grealish has 26 premier league goals, 1 CL goal. He’s got 14 in the championship and 4 in league one but who cares about those. A couple of FA cup goals and 3 in the league cup. Meanwhile Rashford’s got 87 in the prem, 26 in Europe, 25 in the domestic cups.

Andri Shevchenko, Samuel Eto, Edison Cavani, Gonzalo Higuain. All but a few of Europe's more Natural finishers that scored regularly 20+ goals a season in the European Leagues before coming to the PL and struggling to get close to the same numbers. You need to be so much more than a natural finisher to play in the PL. You need to be a big physical Unit or have explosive acceleration. Gyokeres has neither.
