I got chills when Martial scored that goal with Pogba's assist for how beautiful it was. To think that these players can play this football and they aren't being allowed to is horrifying. Second half was about what United ALWAYS have to do: ATTACK, ATTACK, ATTACK. Martial, Pogba, Alexis, Mata and De Gea saved that game, not McTominay or Fellaini. That's the difference between what we have been for the last years and what we could be under the right management. Funny that those players Mourinho hates have saved his job... Proves how clueless Jose actually is.

What you fail to see in this game and the one against City last season is that the fans are right over Mourinho. Mourinho started the game his way, playing defensive, it didn't work and he played the way the fans want, attack, attack, attack, and it worked. So who's right? Xavi Dre , I would say buckle in and expect a lot of delusion this week. Newcastle are sh** and we made them look like Barcelona at times ; just look what it took with late heroics to nick the points against a poor side at home. How far off we are from being effective and how poor the play is reflected in the results , loss to West Ham , loss to Derby at home , flat against Valencia who haven’t found their groove and all our heroics to get the points at home against a bang average borderline poor Toon side. To use a boxing analogy that was a late round reprieve being saved by the bell , we were still in danger until the whistle blew tbh. If Jose is still here , the 12 round knockout is incoming at the bridge next Prem fixture. Ntm we aren’t getting out of our group in the CL , if you look at how we are playing against average and poor sides there’s no chance we beat Juve home or away or Valencia away. I would hope this does not delay Jose’s sacking but it probably will. Big reality check incoming over the next few weeks after the break.

Leigh Grant I’m not a fan of his style of play but the fact is his plan was bring in Toby Alderweild, Harry MacGuire, and for 2 seasons he wanted Perisic and Alessandro. Sanchez Lukaku Perisic Pogba Fred Matic Alessandro MacGuire Alderweild Valencia And rotate in Fellaini in the midfield when we are winning for Fred. He wants to play physical and have a wall 2 skilled players up front in Sanchez and Perisic that work hard and Lukaku for force. A strong physical midfield and physical defenders with De Gea in back. So it’s not so much we are going to beat u we are going to make it so we frustrate u and u can’t beat us and we capitalize on your mistakes score and then completely park the bus. And with that line up he would have had a chance to win the league would have been tough to watch but that’s Jose and the board pulled the rug out from under him so he knew this season was a wash.

Erm...apart from the goal, Martial really struggled. Pogba was great, Mata changed the game - not just with the goal, but with his natural technical ability. Mata sets the tempo, plays the right passes and moves off the ball. You never give Mata any credit, because he's slow. He's the smartest attacking player we have, that's the problem with Rashford, Lukaku and Martial. They're one dimensional, can't pass and seriously lack football intelligence. You play too much Fifa, it's not all about pace and strength.

My personal opinion is that Jose and his teams turn up against the bigger sides. I think we're going to get good results against Chelsea Juventus Man City etc. But honestly it's against the smaller teams that Jose is put under scrutiny. Against the smaller teams i'd field. Rashford Martial Mata Sanchez Fred Pereira Shaw Matic Smalling Pogba Dalot De Gea A fast team like that will get you results. We need rapid full backs bombing up and down, a quick technical midfield and Matic and Pogba to play out from the back. We don't have a ball playing centre half. Mata's best position is no. 10. There's a lot of attacking plays we can trry with this team. In fact even against the bigger sides I'd try Pogba as deep midfield. Mata's the technical rat and Rashford's the pace. Sanchez and Martial can cross in and inter change. What do you all think?

Mourhinho has proven that his signings aren't great. He bought two CBs that he now wants to improve on. Woodward quite rightly wants to bring some science to that process. He has also shown how he lacks the skills to motivate players in a positive way. BUT he is a tactical genius! Nobody should go at this stage of the season. Not Woodward or Mourhinho. Yesterday if you noticed martial he wasn't defending at all. I think martial was a better player last year when he was doing what Jose told him, he's reverted back to old this season and loses the ball and dosent try and get the ball back. We need to clear out 6 or 7 dead wood regardless of whether we keep or replace Jose. Young Valencia darmian rojo Jones are finished and need to be replaced. Rashford and mctominny need a loan. And we need adquite replacement.
