Something a bit different. I love this industry and this is something I'd been interested in for a long time as a big fan of the Kick Off in it's original conception. Fair play to Loz for being open to doing this and I think it's a fair appreciation and story for everyone involved.

As someone who’s spent 1000s of hours watching Mark, Brian (True Geordie) and Laurence, this was a brilliant podcast to hear. I think Laurence chose the right person to sit down and talk about it with. I hope Laurence and Brian can find a way back to each other, they were an unbeatable partnership when it comes to podcasting and streaming. Even if they don’t though, they’ve got an incredible back-catalogue of work that will stand the test of time, so thank you to both of them for giving us that over the years. ❤️

honestly Loz deseves better than Brian. Brian is genuinely a woman-hating idiot who doesn't want to change. Loz deserves a creative partner who is willing to grow with him, not one who is going to ruin his career with racism and misogyny.

This is what loz has needed for years, a mark that will undercut and talk over him respectfully to reign him in, this podcast is the most likeable hes been in years and years. Credit to loz for coming on and being as open but credit to mark for being blunt when needed, direct when needed, but at the same time, he clearly made loz comfortable

It genuinely does hurt me these guys are no longer on the channel together. I wasn’t into KZbin. Ever. Then I randomly watched a podcast with a massive Geordie bloke and his posh friend. It changed my perception of KZbin forever and lead me to all sorts of creators I now love. I’m grateful for Loz and Brian. The first 100 podcasts or so were some of the best content I’ve seen. It helped a lot at the time, I was in the bin. I wish Loz well.

Laurence was 50% (minimum) of TG’s channel in my mind. The reason it worked so well is because they really bounced off each other, similar senses of humour but with different delivery. Brian the straight-talker and Laurence with the sharp wit, the comedic value was excellent. I’m not massively interested in watching either on their own tbh, but if they ever worked together again id be all over it

I appreciate that Loz was being EXTREMELY careful to make it clear that blame was shared, and that there were no real true bad guys in the situation, just a bad circumstance handled badly at a bad time by people who mostly meant well. I really think TG or one of his loyal fans would have to try VERY hard to find slight or offense in that discussion.

Soz, he's always seemed fake to me and no difference here. It's probably why he got hammered so much as well - people perceived, rightly or wrongly, that he thinks very hard about what he says and does, so had a hard time believing he didn't just calculate that moving quickly on was (in his mind) the best chance of keeping everything from blowing up. Not that I think a throwaway wayward comment deserved a cancellation, it's not as if Brian was ever held up as some role model or paragon of normality. If a Blue Peter presenter can do lines off a turtle and still find work, a bit of Christian forgiveness towards TG wouldn't go amiss

I feel the same way to this. I really enjoy his solo videos. I like the way they're shot and the way he delivers the information... it's very unique and original within the football KZbin space. But as mentioned in this video. Brian never showed faith and offered him a contract. So if Brian is so big and so important, why are people even bothered about Rory leaving? Plus, Brian didn't help Rory just for charity reasons. Rory added value, and Brian earned off that value.

Considering Brian recently said there is no chance of any old bridges being mended, I doubt it. The way he sees it, his mates dropped him immediately because he said something he shouldn't have because they didn't want the bad PR, showing they weren't really his real friends. Think everyone handled it poorly but Brian seems like he isn't willing to patch things up with anyone.

Maybe I'm wrong but I think The Kick Off dropped off when they moved the live streams to twitch. I'm sure there was a reason they did that, like Twitch paying them etc. But I remember one time thinking what happened to the kick off and then I saw they were on live twitch instead of youtube.

The comments he made about certain “fan channels” going onto Sky etc. to be used for clips is very true.
