'A Small Light' premiere Q&A: Bel Powley, Liev Schreiber and producers discuss Nat Geo series

“I’ve been searching for roles like this,” said actress Bel Powley about the character she plays in “A Small Light.” Part of what excited her about the limited series was that generally “people aren’t making shows about women like Miep.” She discussed the project on April 25 at the New York City premiere during a panel moderated by Dan Bucatinsky.

I read Anne's Diary as a kid(im 36) and I recently noticed there is a Definitive Edition of the Diary. It has the rest of the diary entries that are not in the one we read as children. You learn so much more about Anne.

Not being sarcastic, I love that "A Small Light" was a serious historical show about real people in horrific times, and Bel Powley wardrobe choice was ironic and seductive indeed. I got distracted a lot times throughout the video. Bel is indeed attractive.

The Jan character is too beefy, Prague does NOT resemble Amsterdam ...like At All, also Swimming in the canals...for fun? in the 40's they were basically still sewers, that would definitely never happen! But anyway these relatively minor objections do not take away that the show does touch the right strings and tells the story really well. I really loved how Bel Powley portrays Miep. And i feel they really captured her spirit well.
