In my opinion, the take over rant should have not been taken out. That stuff should be addressed because if no one talks about it, then it seems like we dont give af, and people will say its ok to do so.

I'm 50 and love watching FD and drifting in general. My background is Jeeps, buggies, and rock crawling but I enjoy the technical aspect of drift cars. If I had the space and time I would totally build a Fox body POS beater with 1000HP. Biggest thing about FD for me is the more or less "unlimited" rules. Yes, I know there's some rules about the firewalls and suspension pickups but by and large it's one of the only series that grants a lot of freedom of creativity(kinda like Ultra4). Edit: Totally agree on the diesel bro rolling coal shit. I drive a stock 2006 Cummins truck and because of the rolling coal nonsense I have to pay money to have it emission tested every other year. Thanks c u n t s!

That take over shit is killing the car scene! Here in CT anyone starts to do a burnout or act stupid we all get together and shut them down! Car clubs are in one with motorcycles clubs. With vests so you can’t have a car club without the backing from a motorcycle club because they have rules to follow. I like it that way.

I think the recent skyrocketing of price on cars will have a big effect on drifting, most normal used cars may come down in price since they raised in price due to the chip shortage and the pandemic. While the cars that are potential drift cars have been raised due to drift tax as well as the market rising in price in total. And the market for those type of cars are heavily influenced by what ppl think there worth, therefore even after normal used car prices come down the ppl selling the manual rwd potential drift cars will continue to stay the same. Once the value goes up it doesn't come down on those types of cars. We can see that with 240’s and other heavily drift taxed cars they’ve only gone up for like 10 years.

Talking about the future as well, there’s always room for people building actual tube chassis drift cars, just like for oval racing and road racing to a lesser extent. While the initial cost will be 10-15k for a rolling chassis those will be resold for 1500-3k and ls’s will always be plentiful.

Those people doing donuts (duggits) in intersections and shutting down intersections to drive clapped out cars or nice cars and they cause problems “law wise” and actually injuring a lot of people and drivers not have much skills. The typical “mustang” videos doing donuts and they slam into people or people walking to the center of the intersection. A lot of people would stand around this intersection even inside of where they are doing there donuts.

Hey man, I know it might feel like you're getting in to the tail end of a good thing, but it's definitely still got plenty of years left in the sport. I would say if you're doing it for fun, it doesn't matter so much whether there's a big or small community anyway. Then if you're doing it for sport, there's never been a better time to get into grassroots competitions. Lots of these competitions didn't exist ten years ago, and they definitely didn't exist twenty years ago. The parts, community and support have never been more available and the sport has never been more accepted than it is now.

I think, and really hope that there will be local push back in a lot of areas where more "liberal" epa agendas are less frowned upon. There are so many places in America where people only view a diesel pickup truck as the only legitimate form of car to buy. My friend was just telling her family that she wanted a prius for the good gas milage. Her family was about to fight her over the point because they think she needs a truck.

The gov being able to turn off your electric car isn't super reasonable imo - why doesn't the government just turn off everyone's computer when people start protesting online? Because they don't have access. There would have to be formal laws passed for something like that to happen, so it would be extremely visible if it was coming on the horizon
