Anyone who did not take the opportunity to grow up with this band lost out on a whole wonderful world of music that no one else was doing... ie though, that first song is not Candy's going home. It is Candy's going bad!!!!! We all would like to thank Golden earring for all of their efforts for the many, many, many years of musical joy that they brought into our lives. God bless them and God bless. George.. could not imagine growing up in my life in this world not being one of their biggest fans... I GET IT!

mary10000 I think it because the states forgot about them. They didn’t try to reproduce radar love or twilight zone. They played all over the spectrum and radio stations don’t like that. I actually think they were ahead of their time. They need more exposure. Their musicianship is off the charts.

So saddened by the horrible news about guitarist George Kooijmans. The Golden Earring is/ was one of the best rock bands in the world, without overstating this. I wish all the strength for George, his family, friends and his Golden Earring colleagues.... Prayers going up for you, George....🙏

No one does it like the Earring. I've been a fan since ;Moontan', and the internet has helped me to see and hear a lot of stuff that I'd missed along the way. This '82 video is a great example. As for George's guitar work, I think he's definitely one of the most underrated axemen in rock, probably because of the relative obscurity in the U.S. of the band. Cesar is also an amazing drummer. Who am I kidding? The whole band rocks!!!!!

Their management never quite understood why they refused to live in America after the succes of Radar Love. They were popular there. But after three months of touring they returned back home to The Hague.

Well, now, nugent is not much anyway, it never was. But, GE have blown away a lot of good bands. They are the Dutch top band. With Boeyen's Vitesse and Brood they were the top 3 big, bigger, biggest bands in the world of Holland. Too bad non of them had a breakthrough in the USA. GE had a great hit with Radar Love, and that's was it. The Cats had two records in the US and also didn't got the change to break through big time !

I grew up listening to the album Moontan while my mom played this epic record. In the past five years I have researched Golden Earring a lot. Incredibly talented and underappreciated in America, they are the longest lived rock band starting in 1962, still touring and very popular in Scandinavian countries and The Netherlands where they are from. This Rockpalast show is my favorite live performance of theirs', playing most of their best songs and in their prime. George Koomans is an amazing guitarist and song writer who learned a lot from Jimmy Page while touring with Led Zeppelin in the early 70s.

MrMatthiasSchneider The Song was released some weeks after this concert had been recorded. So the 'worktitle' was probably "when the bullet hits the bone. The song originally was written by George Kooymans for his solo album. The Earring wanted to quit in those days and George already made plans for his solo album. They decided to make one last album ( Cut) and George used this song for te recording sessions. Then it became a huge hit, and they played on and on and on ...... ;)
