I think it’s really fascinating to think prehistoric parasites fossilised with their hosts! Some beautiful finds lovely to get a double whammy video!

Yes ! 🙌 they are fun to find on the 2008 slip. I was lucky 🍀 to find two. I’ve seen a similar looking one on James May’s pub door.

why are you sandblasting that absolutely delightful patinaed copper/brass trinket (door knocker?)??
@jamesaolsen11962 жыл бұрын
sandblasting typically reduces the value of antiques significantly. I'd check out some resources online. :-)

I’ve got one with a beautiful patina like that , as I have mentioned I found two . I wanted one fully working for a door . So I have both one with patina and one with “ original “ brass colour. I am one of the trustees of Mary Anning Rocks and the statue of the famous fossil lady we have decided to let the weather take effect on that and a beautiful patina can be seen on the statue now . Then again a lot of people tell me they don’t like the verdigris they see . I am glad I’ve got two door knockers an example of one with patina and one with brass

I’m not going to sell either of the door knocker’s one with patina or the brass one.

The coating on it could also be acidic so it could in fact slowly rot it out . A lot of stuff has been thrown in the old VICTORIAN bottle dump that’s come down to the beach at Lyme Regis. One lady had her arm burn with an acidic bottle of some sort of substance she picked up . I prefer to let the sea wash my finds out onto the beach . But then again sea salt is terrible for everything.

Beautifully you can see the layered structure ... I wonder what other wonders are hidden there 😍👍Greetings from Poland 👍 PS. What do you take video with ? And makro films ?
@LymeRegisFossils2 жыл бұрын
Thanks I use an iPhone 📱 11 pro max . The old VICTORIAN bottle dump that came down onto the beach in a mudslide has many old bottles in it . Also a lot of other antiques and old Victorian era finds have been made from the mud that’s washed by the sea 🙌

There was a fossil up in church cliffs , but a lot of it fell down now onto the beach in a big block that’s why you should stay away from the cliffs The cliffs are dangerous and liable to fall suddenly and without warning ⚠️.

WHat the hell are you doing taking the patina off that artefact. It's now worthless

I’ve got two door 🚪 knockers from that sight one with great patina on. The other one I didn’t like the bits in her mouth so decided to have one golden like they were in original form and one with patina. Both of them were saved from the destruction of the sea 🌊 🙌
