Very nice. I think the trees on the right give good balance to the bridge, which tends to fill more of the left side and takes the viewers eye that direction. Also the greens in the foreground are a compliment to the reds in the bridge.

It’s amazing to me that you can talk, teach, film and paint…in the wind‼️ I learn something new every time I watch you paint, I’m so glad you used a straight edge for the bridge because I know I’d have to 😁🎨👊🏻

Awsome work ,particularly like the use of a large canvas plien air ,it turns the whole exercise into a cross country event with all its challenges

I especially like your addition of the purple/blue cast shadow on the water. And I love the looseness and painterly tree trunks. They are very calligraphic in style and nature. Great painting once again of a challenging composition! Painting on a larger canvas allows you to keep it loose and yet have room for some subtle details in the cypress trees.

I like how when you sketched in the elements, you used a color representative of that shape, and you didn’t tone the canvas. That seemed to increase the fluidity of progress and a pleasing painting. Nice job!! Enjoyed watching you paint. Thanks!!

That just blew me away…your drawing is just so accurate and good. Colors mixes really showed the atmospheric perspective and just makes the painting! Showing the type of day, with the atmospheric perspective with your colors choices made this such a successful painting. Good composition too! Again, how you got the drawing so quickly en plein air shows your experience and growth as a painter. BRAVO Michael!

Of course, I'm dating myself, but I was humming the "Mannix" theme song the whole time I was watching you paint this scene. Great job and vlog, as usual, especially given the iconic, technical challenge of framing the bridge, surrounded by all that gorgeous nature.

Congratulations! Finishing that in one sitting is an accomplishment! I see quite a number of KZbin pleir air artists prefer to do their work in one sitting, and I enjoy watching them race to the finish. When I first started painting, I made the decision that I would rather work multiple settings. i don't enjoy racing time, and I like to think about what I want to accomplish. That race is much more fun to watch when someone else is doing it!

Michael, I believe you could grab a chop-stick, a little glue and a frayed shoelace and paint just as comfortably as you do with all your brushes, whether new or centuries old (as some appear). You are a true alla prima artist, a California coastal Monet. This is a cool composition. You really did a good job with those big verticals on the bridge uprights, and you really captured some great light in the bay at the left. Are you typically a morning light painter?
